I wanted to go all out rent a reception hall that does it all…catering, linens, set-up and tear-down, alcohol, etc. But the hall that I would have LOVE to have cost $5k for all that not to include decorations, DJ, favors, attire, etc. (which will be about $8k). So we opt for a community center in the suburbs of my hometown; it is SURPRISINGLY really nice and at a rental rate of $600 + $350 deposit which will get back (early access the previous day for decorating) and the cost of everything else we will come in at or around $5k; saving us anywhere between $4-$5k. The pictures attached is that of someone’s event, of course because of my amazing talents and that of WBC plus my mom, cousin and MOH (sister-in-law) the venue will be fierce ?

I found my dress online at JuilusBridal.com in NYC. It is currently $250 (was orginally $149 missed that price). But it is not too expensive and just what I was wanting...a little vintage (and Andy would drop is jaw when he sees me) and with a modern twist; i'll be getting it in ivory. The BEST thing about the dress...it detach to a short version so I can dance the night away. :)

Okay, I'm not a flower girl...I prefer candle light but I can't carry candles down the aisle : ) So with all this Damask + Blue (various shades of blue not just Tiffany) what color flowers should I have? For some reason blue flowers seams fake to me (I know there are real blue flowers). So I was thinking red or yellow...maybe pink + I want feathers added. I love Calla Lillies and white roses. Share your opinion

I found these Damask hat boxes (three sizes) at Hobby Lobby...hat boxes have multitude of uses. I figure I can use the larger one for a cake stand and other boxes for Bathroom baskets for the women and men's restrooms at the reception site. Also I have so many little kids under the age of 13 in my family and I'm going to have a kids' table and I'll get a box to hold coloring books, jacks, etc. What do you ladies think?

Just have to share my Andy with everyone...isn't he handsome. I'm so in love : ) We've been date 2 years this March and the relationship he and I have was such a surprise from start to finish.

Hi ladies, I've been stalking this site since my engagement on Jan. 12, 2009. I figure I cruise and find Damask inspire design and low and behold WBC popped up on my Goggle search.

Ok let's fast forward ,we just picked a date this week and decided on Sept. 19, 2009 and according to WBC I only have 212 days to get it together and boy am I overwhelmed by just the mere thought of pulling this together in 6 months.

Lucky, I already picked out a Reception site and our Ceremony will take place in the little Baptist Church that I grew up in and where my Grandfather once Pastored. My Reception will be held at the local Urban League's reception venue. We can give a great party and give back to the community all in one shot...

I was surprised at the affordablity the venue with all the bases covered from great food, full bar with specialty drink, table clothes, flatware, etc. less than 5k...how awesome is that!

Anywho, I hope to steal and give a lot of DIY ideas as I am Ms. Creative having done/helped with a couple of weddings.
