Sand Ceremony

My cousin asked me if I was going to do the Sand Ceremony. At first I wasn't sure. Now that I had the chance to read about it. I would love to do this at our wedding. I have two girls from a previous relationship, and Brandon and I have a little girl... I would love to have them apart of our unity as one. Even though we're that way with or without it. I believe this will be more meaningful for them and us. And we'll all be able to look at the vase and think of our little family on that special day...

The reason of a sand ceremony and use: To reflect the joining and blending of two lives into one, it is suggested to fill one cylinder with white sand to represent the couple’s spiritual foundation and to fill the other two cylinders each with a different colored sand to represent the individuals. During the ceremony each color is poured into the tall cylinder one by one (usually the minister adds the white sand first) and then all three or how many more are added together at the top to symbolize the union

DO IT!!!

We did it and EVERYONE LOVED it. It's so special and still unique! But don't expect the sand to come out perfect like all the pics online from different companies. And you don't need a lot of sand. When the sand settles, it shifts, but still very cool, and I think it displays better than a melted and burned candles!! No offense to the unity candle brides :)
