Ahhh!! October means 6 months left! [justme&him]

I can't even believe that I only have 6 months to go this month. Wow time is flying!!! I still need to book a florist but at this rate I'm really contemplating doing my own bouquets. I'm doing non-floral centerpieces so I don't think I should be paying someone $800 (yes, that was one ladies quote) for 3 BM's 1 Bridal bouquet, 4 boutonnières, and 3 corsages. I was too through when I got the quote back. Thanks but no thanks!! I looked at a few youtubes on how to make your own, and a friend of mine did, so I'm really thinking about getting my flowers the day before from Costco and going at it. I can't afford to spend that much on something that will be dying as I'm holding it, it's just crazy to me. Everyone around here is quoting me way too high!!

That's on the list along with finding out where we are doing rehearsal dinner and getting my veil and shoes!!

Excited!!!

Lol, wow! $800?!?! Well, I highly recommend Costco. We ordered 100 red roses from Costco for $79 and we watched some youtube videos and were able to make the bridesmaids bouquets and the groomsmen's boutonnieres. They came out great and the flowers were really fresh and delivery was the exact date they said it would arrive. There is a lady here that says she knows how to make the type of bouquet I want so I am going to try it with her and DIY my bouquet for my bridal portraits. If I like it I will do that as well but if not I will go to a florist for my bouquet only.

Good for you! You are a great DIY bride!

@ kwepie117 we are on the same page!!! I never thought I would, but for those prices I will learn how to do it, I have 6 months to learn, lol  So did you order the roses from online with costco or in the store??

I ordered the roses online. My wedding planner was the one who suggested it. At first I was like, no, I want a florist to do it. When we started getting quotes I was like, "Are you serious?!?" LOL, I quickly decided it was time to give it a try. I was still pretty skeptical which is why I decided to do a trial run with it waaayyyy in advance so that I had enough time to go with a backup if I didn't like it.

However, I was very surprised and happy with the whole process and end product. You can't even tell I didn't spend a ton of money to get them done by a florist!

Yea, that is way too much money...just get them yourself from Costco or Sam's Club. I tried it out myself and it really wasn't that hard to do.

LOL! WOW seriously 800??? SHEESH! I have to go back and look at my floral cost....I may be overpaying as well. lol!  I thought about doing my own bouquets but I was nervous about doing them so close to wedding......using real flowers. I was worried I would not have enough time or keep them fresh...I am just not a plant/flower person and dont know the first thing about them.

I would say go for it because like you said...its gonna die the same day you say "I DO" and BAM 800 down the drain! SHEESH!

Your projects are all beautiful so I am sure you will do just fine!!!!

Happy planning!!!!

you know my trouble with florists to and how they want an arm and both legs and i was sooo close to just doing them myself! luckily i found someone very reasonable! but HEY, if you are okay with doing these the day before, then all the power to you! it's way too much for (like you said) something that’s going to be dying as your holding them.... lol

good luck honey & keep us updated on the flower situation!

$800 is crazy a lot!! I've thought about doing my own but I really don't want to take the time to do them! :-/.. I'm doing my own centerpieces so I'm tired of seeing FLOWERS! lol.. If you change your mind, you should definitely look on etsy. Some people use the real touch roses so they look real. I found a lady on etsy that is charging me $400 for everthing...

Bride bouquet, 4 BMs bouquet, Groom boutonniere, 4 GMs boutonniere, the father's boutonniere, mother's corsages, & the toss bouquet.
