Ms. Geri has two unique lovely hand-cancellation stamps she can use on your most treasured mail. She will also work with you no matter where on Earth you reside.

Description: The Bridal Veil Post Office (est. 1887) is the second smallest free-standing postal building in the United States, at only 10 feet by 14 feet. Its closet-sized 2 customers at a time lobby has 60 post office boxes and a tiny bookshelf for newspapers. Outside is a cheerful flower box, a proud flag flying, and in the background is the historic and scenic Columbia River Gorge. (I-84 and exit 28)

Help keep this tiny historical jewel open by purchasing all of your postage stamps here. The government does not make it easy, but neither is it too difficult to do business with this postal station because of the sunny personality and dedication of its Postmaster.

Regulations at this time does not allow the post office to run your credit card (unless you are personally on site). That means they can not process a debit card either. They can however take a personal check. Be sure to include your telephone numbers and your return address with all your correspondence to the postmaster.

Stamp sales are the only thing that keeps the door open. But snail mail works perfectly out here where highspeed internet still is not possible.

Wikipedia says: Bridal Veil is a virtual ghost town located in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. It was established in the 1880s during a logging boom by a logging company as it harvested timber on nearby Larch Mountain. It was a company mill town, built and centered around a sawmill, and it had a close relationship with the logging town of Palmer Oregon for the first 50 years of its history. (Palmer burned to the ground long ago.) As of July 2006, all that remained of the town was a post office, a cemetery and a church. It is located in the Columbia River Gorge.

Wikipedia forgot to note that the spirit of the river community is alive and healthy, and actively raising funds to buy land to move the post office and preserve the little gem forever.

The concerned citizens of the Bridal Veil Historical Preservation Society care for the grounds at the tiny post office, church and cemetery. The post office will be 125 years old in 2012.

How to Order Custom Hand Stamped Services
It's Easy but don't skip a step.

Weigh your completed invitations & determine the right amount of postage required for each one. (Be sure to do this carefully if you are outside the United States! Rates will be different for all foreign mail.)

Select the postage stamp design from what is currently available (at usps.com). Remember to first order you stamps from the Bridal Veil Post Office by sending a note with your telephone number and full return address, and a signed check for your stamps to:
Postmaster
1 W Mill Road
Bridal Veil, Oregon 97010

While waiting for your stamps to arrive, use this time to address and stuff your invitations, also decide which of the hand cancellation images will look the best on your envelope; (double hearts are shown in this lens - the beautiful doves with ribbons are not yet posted.

Once your beautiful stamps arrive you are ready to give careful consideration to their placement on the outer envelope. Consider the overall envelope size. I suggest dropping it down a bit from the top edge, and in nicely from the right edge of your envelope, while still keeping the stamp in the upper right corner. This will leave the postmistress enough room to place the image beautifully over your postage.

Next, box up your stamped and addressed invites. (Don't let them shift around and get bent up, so use something sturdy to help hold them in place and consider double boxing them. We also added a plastic bag for waterproofing the interior of the box just as an extra precaution.)

Tip: Don't forget to address and send one to yourself for your wedding mementos.

Remember to enclose a check for total postage required to mail all your envelopes. Forgetting this check will delay everything!

Be sure your phone number and return address are also inside your box. You can tell the Postmistress what day you would like them to be canceled and sent out by.

Be sure to specify which cancellation design you'd like (double hearts or the doves). If you don't specify Ms. Geri (the postmaster) will pick the cancellation stamp best suited for your envelopes by using her best judgment regarding paper color and size, and the postage stamp design you have used. (She has graphic design training but prefers you to make your own selection.)

Now take this package to your own mechanized post office and ship your invitations to the Bridal Veil Post Office within plenty of time for them to arrive in Oregon and be hand processed with love and attention.

Relax and know Postmaster Geri will take the greatest care sending out your special mail!
