Only one month to go!!!
It's getting so close and I have so much left to do!
I feel bad, I haven't been on in forever, but my internet at home is very slow! I can't believe that there is only one more month to go before the wedding! My dress finally came in last week and I'm going in for an alteration fitting tomorrow! I'm so excited! Also since my fiance is finally home we are going shopping for our bed set and many other small things that we need to get for the wedding! Last week we paid the rest of the bill for our reception site! We also got all of our invitations out and have already received 12 response cards! It's all starting to come together! :)

My Bridal Shower!
So beautiful!
My maid of honor and my bridesmaid put on a wonderful surprise shower for me last Saturday! It was great; they did such a wonderful job. They used the bright orange and pink colors that I'm using in the wedding and had great bright flowers in pots for everyone to take home. They also had two fun games and a lot of yummy food! It was so nice of them to put it all together for me and I had a great time!

Shoes!
I ordered them today!
I found these cute ballet slipper type shoes online today and I love them! I hope they fit well when the get here!!! I'm going to dye the ribbon a red, pink, or orange... I think red! :)

  Tin Can Flower Centerpiece |
Centerpieces
I think this is what we are going to do!!!
Today I was looking through a wedding magazine and found the cutest idea for centerpiece vases...Tin Cans!!! We are already planning on using freshly picked flowers from my FMIL's garden and now I've found the perfect rustic vase for them. I think we will just tie a simple ribbon bow around the center of each can and fill them with different flowers! I can't wait to see them on the tables!!!
The picture is the closest I could find, but isn't exactly what I'm planning. |

Favors!
Honey sticks!!!
Honey has always been one of my favorite treats since I was a little girl so my fiance and I decided to use honey sticks as our favors! I think this will be perfect for our August wedding!!! We will tie 3 of them together with ribbon. (We ordered caramel, orange blossom, peach, and clover for flavors!) We will also be making a small thank you tag to tie onto them. I was thinking of just putting our names and date on one side and "thank you!" on the other side. What do you girls think?

Missing my sweetie!
2 months without my fiance! :(
My fiance and I both attend Maine Maritime Academy and every year the freshmen and juniors leave on a two month training cruise. Well Andy was a junior this year so he left 10 days ago on a two month cruise. He is the cadet chief engineer, the highest ranking engineering student aboard the ship. He makes me so proud! He is a wonderful man and I feel so lucky to call him mine!!! I'll be missing him very much for the next two months and I can't wait until he comes home to me!!! Luckily he has email so he can still participate in making decisions for the wedding!!! :)

Our cake topper!
We just ordered our cake topper; it is so simple and romantic!!! I can't wait for it to arrive!
We also ordered sand and pouring vessels for our sand ceremony! Now we just need to find the perfect vessel to combine our sands into... :) UPDATE: Because a few people have asked; I ordered the cake topper from weddingmountain.com and the sand from moonglow.com |

Reception!!!
We booked our tent, tables, and chairs!!!
My fiance and I just booked the tent, tables and chairs for our reception! We are lucky we called today because they only had one 30 x 40 Elite Canopy tent left!!! I'm very excited, that was one of the last major details that needed to be booked!!!
Now I just need to think of a simple way to decorate it!!! :) |

Mother dresses
This one is my mom's!
Both, my fiance's and my mom, are pretty young (44 and 39), so we are going with bridesmaid dresses for them instead of the old, formal looking mother dresses offered in many stores. My mother picked her dress out last Saturday, but Andy's mom hasn't picked one yet. I love the one my mom is getting, and hope Andy's mom will get one with a similar color. :)
<--- This is my mom's dress, she'll have it hemmed up so that it will come just below her knees for our August wedding! UPDATE: Andy's mom finally picked and ordered a dress. It's similar to my mom's, but it isn't exactly the color I was hoping for. Oh well, I'm sure it will look fine with the rest of us. |

Wedding week starts on the food channel on Monday April 28! I love watching these shows, it's fun to see how creative people can get! Since our family is going to be doing the food for our big day we'll be looking for fun ideas that are easy to make and fun to eat!
