DIY vintage postcard Save the Date
I made this on word- will post instructions and template if you want them

Hi girls,

so obviously this looks kind of crap right now in low resolution, but it's a first draft that I did in about 20 minutes on word so you can imagine with some tidying up and printed on thick pretty cardstock it would be a lot nicer.

I probably won't use this but I just wanted to try make something cute out of the cute custom monogram that I got free off of the weddingchicks.com. You can make it in your colours and with your names and dates. You don't Have to spend a tonne on wedding stationary. If you download templates offline and don't add embellishments it can actually be pretty cheap.

You could print these on A4 paper in colour for about $0.10 cents a side (so two double sided post cards per a4 sheet), then get the whole lot cut in half to create your postcards for about $2. (go to a stationary store that does ream cutting)

Even if you had to make a hundred that brings printing and cutting for these to about $12. A bundle of thick card stock can actually be pretty cheap as well if you buy it in a big pack (like the packs that printer paper comes in- I've got a thick parchment type that I use to print C.V.s on for my home business that would suit these). Then it's just postage on top of that and you don't need envelopes as it's a postcard

The monogram was free from weddingchicks.com, and the rest is simply created on word.

It's probably all pretty obvious how to make this but if anyone wants the word template I made and instructions I can post them up later :). Just let me know.

EDIT: INSTRUCTIONS ADDED

If you want the word template for this LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS and I'll send it your way :). Here are the instructions as well:

Instructions:
1) Visit http://www.weddingchicks.com:8080/freebies/custom-goodies and select the monogram you would like to use on the front. There are a few designs available- I used the key image.
2) Enter your details and colours as you would like them to appear. The website will email your monogram to your email address.
3) When you receive it you need to save the image in a JPG format- right click it and select save as. Make sure you save as type JPEG image.

4) Open the word template. Right click and copy past your monogram into the first screen that will be the front of the postcard. Size the image to fit the screen and make sure it is centered.
5) In the second screen, which will be the back of the postcard, replace the writing with your details as you’d like them to appear. The address on the left hand side can be deleted and left blank to hand write the addresses in later, or you can choose to enter each guests address individually in the box on word.
6) To edit the colours of the lines you will need to right click the individual shape and select ‘format autoshape’. A box will come up with a colour option- select the colour that is closest to that of your monogram, or another complementary colour of your choice – you will need to repeat this step for each coloured line. You can use the format painter to hasten this step.
7) Your postcards should now be ready to print on cardstock of your choosing.

Notes:
-You can make the names appear either way you like on the custom monogram- just enter the names the other way around under the wrong titles if you want the man’s name to appear first.
-The fonts on the post card are Chopin Script point 16 (names and announcement), Chopin Script point 20 (guest name and address), and Georgia point 9 (main text).
-Each line has its’ own word box- you will need to select and enter the text in the next box for each new line.
-Obviously you will need to print double sided on thick card stock
-The box for the stamp may be the wrong size for your stamps- resize it to suit you.
