I was kinda (not kinda, more like MAJORLY) on the edge of my seat bc FI wanted our honeymoon to be a surprise to me and chose the honeymoon spot himself. He asked me a couple of questions about what I'd like and I told him. My requests were that I didn't want somewhere really "hotel-y", I wanted it to be tropical and exotic, and it had to have good swimming bc I'm not a "sit beside the pool and look pretty" kinda girl. I actually SWIM and dive!!!! It had to be adult only and all inclusive. Then he told me he'd chosen a spot and I loved it. It was nice. I even started a discussion board on that resort's site to see what other honeymooners would be there during our stay. Well, come to find out, he had just told me about that one bc he wanted the actual spot to be a complete surprise!!! LOL.
So now that he has completely booked it and paid for it in full, he revealed to me that he chose...(drumroll please....)
SANDALS GRANDE RIVIERA in OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA!!!!
I...am...stoked!!! I ADORE Jamaica. Although it has a hotel-y feel to the main house, my Boo-skey has chosen to book one of the tucked away and secluded Bungalows/Villas!!! Still the all inclusive ameneties of the hotel-y resort, but our own little private area in the CARIBBEAN!!!! He says he got a good deal too...65% off with 2 nights free if you book 4. YAAYYYY!!!! Off to blog about what I'm WEARING!!! HAHAHA!!!!
All inclusive is the bomb! Make sure you get insurance for the trip and if you don't have already; make sure you apply for your passports at least 2 months before going. Congrats girly!
chocolatesoul...you have GOT to upload alot of pics and recap alot of details since you are going before us. we are passport holders and have been for years. we travel ALOT!!
As far as packing, don't over pack the fee on the planes is not worth it! pack some mix and match tops and bottoms, and they have a nice restaurant that he can not wear sneakers to or jeans, we didnt know that so we couldnt go.
Oh and we did the dunns river falls, WELL WORTH IT!!! you climb 1000 feet up a water fall! It looks harder than it is, and the memories you can create there are wonderful.
For us we walked as much as possible to breakfast and other things to try to get in a workout before gorging (sp) ourselves at the all you can eat restaurants.
Also, we had a little string backpack that came in handy, waterproof, held our cameras, "resort card' and gifts we picked up while out.
OH and the reason I started to comment, our room on the mainside came with its own pool!!! We promised everyday we would use it, and never did, lol. We did get to the big pool and at night it is beautiful, all other couples were back in the room so we had the whole pool to ourselves, except for a sneaky little couple in the hot tub, hehehe.
Sorry so long, I read horror stories from some really picky people before I went and it scarred the crap out of me. If they could just get some real deserts for chocoholics like me then they would be a 6 star :).
Have fun my dear :)
i had ***NO*** idea about a street to the beach?! what gives? but i love the beach so much, i'm willing to deal with it. awesome to have the heads up though!!
eekkkk!! i would love more pics!! thanks so much for the comment!
