My heart went out to this bride who's only 19 with a 2 year old and getting married in MAY. She's so sad and concerned that she won't be able to have a nice wedding bc they are so young and funds are so limited with the baby. Awww. I immediately suggested a backyard wedding or a park wedding and felt COMPELLED to make her an inspiration board. I hope she likes it. And if it's helpful to you, you can use it too!!!

My Wedding Day...Look Book, RED Accents
Sometimes I think it would be romantic to not go so "matchy-matchy" with my accessories and the decor. I'm thinking of wearing ROSE RED accessories with MY gown against my deep regal purple and black and white damask decor. No other red wld be incorporated. Hmmm...Inspiration board to see how that "jives" as a vision instead of just in my head.

I have a ton of smushy nicknames for my FI. Boo-skey is probably the one I use the most. He calls me Peanut Butter, Babygirl, and some others. If it's not too private or embarrasing, and JUST FOR FUN, what are nicknames you and your intended have for each other? This should be a riot!!!

Ok, where are my HOUSTON, TEXAS ladies at???!!!! Roll calllll!!! I'm thinking it would be smart to get us all in one place on the blog and maybe encourage each other, "yay or nah" each other's ideas, maybe make this wedding planning stuff much easier. Best of all we could refer each other to vendors we loved, ideas and deals we've found around town, events going on here locally, all sorts of stuff!!!
How are you coming along with your planning? Who did you use/are you using for your.... Venue Photography Coordinating Catering Cake Linens/Decor Dress Hair/Makeup Groom's attire Attendant's attire Transportation Flowers Extras (photobooth, chocolate fountain, dancers, stringed quartets, etc...) When's your wedding day???!! I'm hoping to get tons of responses. This would be sooo helpful! |

Married Ladies, what are your Do's and Don'ts for us ladies who have yet to wed? Paaaleeease enlighten us!!! Of course it's all a matter of opinion and what's important to each bride and groon personally, but I would love to start this thread in an effort to get information and advice from the Married ladies to the Planning ladies!!!
**What did you ADORE about your wedding and would ABSOLUTELY recommend? What got major compliments that your guests enjoyed and still talk about? **What item/couple of items were worth the SPLURGE and why? **What do you think was a total WASTE? Was there a detail you had that you wish you would have left out? Or that your guests totally didn't get the idea of? (example...my friend had rose petals in paper cones that were to be thrown during their exit but none of us guests did it. We didn't really even know what they were for. She says she wishes she would have saved that money and not done that). **What is a "for sure" regret? Hopefully there aren't too many of these, but if so, what was it? Is there something that even weeks/months after your wedding you still think about in a negative way? I am more excited about this thread than any other I believe. I'm sure it will hope absolute valuable information!! |

I....Found...My...GOWN!!!!!!!!!
I cannot believe how absolutely PERFECT this dress is for me and I am so glad I found her.
I feel in LUST with Sottero and Midgley's "Adorae", but the $1200 price tag did not allow me to fall in LOVE with it. My FI is paying for everything all on his own and I just couldn't let him pay so much for my gown. After blogging and asking for advice, another bride suggested a Da Vinci gown that seemed to look the same from pics in magazines and online. I found a store that carried it here locally and made an appointment to make sure that it LOOKED the same in person/on me as it seemed it would. AND IT DOES. AND FOR $689!!!! AND I LOVE IT!!!! It was the first gown I tried on in that store and it STOPPED EVERYONE IN THEIR TRACKS at the salon. I never felt so gorgeous in all my life!! It will be back in APRIL, only 6-8 weeks of order time. I'm so glad it isn't going to take the 6-8 months other stores were quoting me. I ordered it in Diamond White, which by the way is NOT WHITER than WHITE. I thought the Diamond White would be whiter than the White but it's actually more ivory. White looked kinda blue to me if that makes since. (((SWOON))). I'm just so happy!!! |

Boo-skey and I have known each other since we were 12 and in the 7th grade. We went to middle school, high school, and college together and until recently, I had no idea he had a crush on me the entire time!!! I moved away and that was that. He finally told me at a Mixer Reunion our school had and after months of just being friends and getting caught up, he asked me to enter into a relationship! So glad we did! I moved back to my home city to be with him last summer and he asked me to marry him!!!! We cannot wait!!!
