place cards and flower girl baskets
So we recently decided what we are doing for placecards, a variation of the lemon picture to the left. I'm really excited to see how they turn out!

I also recently lined wicker baskets and affixed some little yellow rosettes to them to use as flower girl baskets, and I'm really liking how they turned out.

Next, the cardbox and some signage :)

Wedding Dress
My dress has arrived!
I took my dress in for my first fitting last week, but since it's significantly too big everywhere except for in length and in the bust, I didn't take any pictures of me IN it. Seriously, I was having serious second thoughts when I tried it on and it was just so big... everywhere. Not a great feeling, but it covers the girls up, so I suppose that's what I need to concern myself with first, and I trust my seamstress wholly so I know I will be happy in the end.

When I purchased the dress, we were having an outdoor farm wedding, and it went so well with that theme. Our wedding day has changed a lot since then, and I would definitely NOT pick the same dress if I had a do-over, but after a long conversation with FH I know that I will be more than excited to wear my dress on my wedding day, and I'm sure that once the alterations have been completed I will have confidence in my dress again.

Any ideas for jewlery and/or hair would be MOST welcomed.

DIY Wedding
walking in a wedding wonderland...
Right now, my house looks like a tornado blew thru and left remnants of a wedding everywhere! Seriously ladies, there is wedding paraphenelia seemingly everywhere I look lately. This is a great sign, however, that things are finally getting accomplished!

After a long talk with the FIL's, we finally decided against doing the Ipod DJ thing, and since my FH is in limbo between starting his job on the 15 and his last day of school last week, he spent Thursday finding the perfect DJ for us! I love how much he loves to help :)

Our invites have been mailed, the final kinks of the wedsite were worked out and we've slowly been accumulating little things we need along the way. We found adorable baskets at Michaels for the FG's, for 40% off! I'm going to sew an eyelet liner for them. I used a 50% coupon to buy the fabric petals, and I found adorable headbands at Claire's. Apparently last week, FH's Oma (German Grandma) sent our little FG's a card with money to buy shoes for the wedding, isn't that cute? It's so, so wonderful to have everyone so excited about our wedding.

Due to a minor debacle with the dress store, I nearly had my first bridezilla moment. OMG. They ordered the WRONG DRESS for my due-on-the-wedding-day BM. She intentionally was waiting until right before the deadline for having to rush order so that they could do a fairly accurate sizing for her, unfortunately when she went in, the owner was not there and the girls listed her under the wrong wedding, and ordered the wrong dress for her!! Thankfully it was all sorted out quickly, but boy oh boy did I have a minor heart attack.

Now all we need for attendant attire is for the rest of the guys to go in for their fittings, so that's a great relief for sure :) I've decided to DIY the boquets with one of my BM's, and we are super excited about it! I'm still getting the corsages and bouts made by a florist, but I want to hand tie the boquets myself. I'm super, super excited to do this project. I've done a couple of trials, and I'm very pleased with how they have turned out. Next time I will remember to take pictures!

Sorry about the rambling update, I'm so bad at updating, so when I do I have TONS to share!

Wedding Favors
we finally decided!
So as a favor, we are going to make little packets of our own special coffee blend. We bought the baggies at Michaels, then stamped them with a "And they lived happily ever after, The End" stamp. We will put enough grounds for 10 cups of coffee in each package, and they are tied together with a really cute 'thank you' ribbon. Very simple, very DIY... very us!

What are you doing for favors?
We genuinely cannot decide what to do for favors, we are toying with several ideas but can't seem to get excited enough about anything to commit. We want it to be memorable, and personal, consumable but with the potential for a keepsake... so please inspire me! What are you doing? Did you have a list of ideas, or just land on the perfect one for you?

Wedding Reception
Decor Porn
This is the post where-in I will indulge, those of you who desire to view it, in my 'decor porn'. Enjoy.

I hope that our eventual reception decor gives off a feeling that's a little bit romance, a little bit country, a lot bit shabby-chic, a little bit vintage, and a sprinkle of summer whimsical joy. Does that make any sense? Probably not. But I think the compilation of pictures shows what we are going for.

Wedding Invitation
let's get together ya-ya-ya
First of all, I absolutely must brag on my wonderful Fiance who spent his entire weekend DIY-ing wedding invitations with me. What a wonderful, wonderful man.

We bought kits at Michael's, because I am NOT a DIY diva, at all. I'm in training, you see, and I'm trying my darndest... but I definitely appreciated the structure of the kits.

We printed in brown ink, and sealed them with a golden wax seal. I love the texture the seal adds, it certainly adds a personal touch that we appreciate. So much fun to do, too!!

Cupcakes are for lovers, and other updates
I'm baaaack :)
For a multitude of reasons, wedding planning hit the back burner for a solid 6 weeks after the save the dates went out, but prepare yourselves for a plethora of posts, because this bride is going full steam ahead!

Update 1:
One of my bridesmaids is due ON MY WEDDING DAY!!! Hahahaha, best surprise ever, let's be serious. So we've revamped the dress choice, just in case she is post partum 2 weeks and needs something a bit flowy. She and her doctor are anticipating her due date to move up 2 weeks because she is measuring large, and dates have changed a bit for the *ahem* conception. Anyways, we've chosen a new dress that looks awesome on everyone who has tried it on :)
This ALSO means that we decided NOT to have our reception on the farm, because the farm belongs to said bridesmaid and her husband. Instead we are renting a curling centre in the nearby small town, that is honestly gigantic, I'm excited about the decor possibilities. One of my BMs is an architect and she has come up with some fabulous ideas for decor, and we've found some excellent pieces at great bargains, I love when that happens!

Update 2:
We chose cupcake flavors! We are doing some regular cupcakes and some pound cake, the flavors are: lemon, vanilla, chocolate marble and white chocolate blueberry! They will be topped with fondant of varying styles, and we will be setting them up buffet style with china plates from different women in the family as platters. The plates will be at different heights on the table. There will also be a cake stand with a small cake for cutting on it. I love it! We're going for the country/whimsical style of the cake table picture I've attached.

Update 3:
I really want to go with Peonies for flowers... but I'm scared to go to a florist and find out how much it will cost! I was going to do yellow roses from Costco... because I like how insanely budget friendly it is, and I thought I didn't really care. But I've fallen in love with the look of peony bouquets, and I think I will end up disappointed if I don't do it. What do you ladies think? I'm sure I should at least look into it :)

I think 3 updates is plenty for today... I'll be back soon!

Save The Dates
an STD you'd like to get... or not?
Alright ladies, riddle me this... what is your opinion on Save The Dates? Are you sending them? What style are you sending?

My fiance and I are planning to send ours in Christmas cards next month, but I honestly am at an absolute loss as to what we should send! Help a girl out...

Weight Loss and Your Wedding
I'm sure most of us envision ourselves svelte and slim on our wedding day, so I want to know, what are you doing to get yourself there? Which excercises and diets work best for you?
My friend and I are thinking about looking into Weight Watchers, and doing eliptical dates. Neither of us are looking to lose tons of weight, but we'd both like to tone up and feel the best we can :)
I find I'm best at working out and eating healthy when I have some variety, so hit me with your best advice! Thanks lovely ladies :)
