Wedding Invitation
Budget Saver!

Originally I was going to make my invitations from scratch to save money and because I love doing that sort of thing. I even went and bought the paper and materials. Then my FH dropped the bomb that he didn't like the colour scheme. Ughh. So back to square one with materials. I was in Michaels last night having a look at paper and I fell in LOVE with these! They will save me a LOT of time and stress by not having to make my own and they turned out to be cheaper! Buying all the materials for DIY invites was much cheaper than having them made but it was still really expensive!

I got these at Michael's for $55 for 30 PLUS I used a coupon for each one 40% off two and 50% off the other two!

So I know the brown has nothing to do with my colour scheme but the flowers totally fit! So I am thinking about what I can add to incorporate the pink and navy and maybe I'll just add brown to my decor somewhere. {brown wishing tree?}. I also want them to be more personable but I don't know what to add.

Ideas?

I've seen these at Michael's and I really love them too, but they don't fit into my color scheme. I love the favor boxes they have to coordinate with these.

Go back to Michaels and try to look at some spray paints or misters, maybe you can incorpate the pink into the peddles by misting the color into the flowers not necessarily coloring them in, but highlighting them with pink or even with your blue. You could Also do your names in Navy Blue, so they stand out on the card.

very pretty cards - must say I am buying mine this weekend and I'm going to go look at these! They are beautiful.

You could print a small part of the text (like your names as danigirl suggested) or a short verse at the top or bottom. I'm rubber stamping mine after I print them. So how about add a tiny butterfly stamp in navy and a pink crystal somewhere and you could incorporate a tiny bit of brown in your reception if you feel like you need to.

ah! I have the exact same problem. I started with the white and black damask invitations. then saw these garden rose ones and changed my mind (plus the damask isn't anywhere in my wedding, so it really didn't make sense). but sadly the garden rose invitations ONLY come in brown and cream -- i emailed the company and they said they weren't sure if they were going to make them in any other colour in the future.

in no way am i going to be incorporating brown into my wedding -- but i think it would go good with your navy and pink. Instead I am making my invitations from scratch and my Uncle who is a graphic designer will be helping me and pretty much helping me make my own invitations with this garden rose he'll draw.

but good luck on your invites! i love them soooo much! i was so sad when they didn't come in any other colour for my wedding.

let us know how they turn out!
