The engagement story started out with Me, Brad, Kylie, Amy, Maddie, Scott, Michael Ann, Chris, Paeden, Cameron, Matthew, and Jonathan all going trick-or-treating in the Quail Run neighborhood. We walked all the way around the neighborhood as we do every year and then we went back to Brad's parents house so the kids could check out their candy before we went home. We were all sitting around and Margaret (Brad's mom) was giving all of the adults their candy bags that she had made for them. I was in candy mode and wanted the good stuff so I got the bags from her and decided who got which ones because I wanted the best bag. I noticed that one of the bags had alot of shredded paper in it and just a little candy so I automatically assumed that she had run out of candy and stuffed it with some paper so it would still look full. I didn't want that one of course so I put it in Maddie's bag. :o) Shortly after that, we all decided it was time to go and Brad went ahead and left. Amy and I walked out to the cars and made plans that Brad and I would walk over to their house when we got home and hang out for a few. I made the comment that we would be over soon after I got home and then said, "Maybe he's going to propose!" and then I laughed. Amy said, "Yeah right." and we left. So from there I took Kylie home and dropped her off then I went home. I was ready to go to Amy's house, but Brad was pressuring me to sort out the candy with him so he would have some to take to work the next day. I was getting frustrated because I was ready to go but finally I said ok. I walked over to the counter and he had opened the bag of candy that his mom gave us and layed the paper and candy out. I realized I wasn't supposed to have that bag of candy with paper in it because I had purposely given that one to Maddie. But anyway I walked over and started looking through the candy and when I moved the paper, there was the ring box. I was totally shocked!! I turned around to Brad and he was down on his knee and he said, "Will you spend your life with me?" (or something to that affect but I know it wasn't will you marry me) I grabbed him up and just hugged him saying "yes!" I was soooo excited!! He asked if I wanted to see the ring so he got it out and slipped it on my finger! It was just the one I wanted! After that, I asked him if Amy knew and he said they had to tell her because I had given Maddie the bag with the ring in it so they had to switch it without me knowing. Needless to say it was the greatest night of my life!!! I loved every single detail!!!
