Wedding Vows
**Revised**
I found this quote and it inspired me to write these vows.
You don't marry one person; you marry three: the person you think they are, the person they are, and the person they are going to become as a result of being married to you. I think you are made of sugar because you eat so much of it and because you are as sweet as sweet can be. Because you make me smile when I do not want to be happy. You give me kisses when I do not want to be touched. You teach me to be kinder, gentler, more appreciative, and not to take anything in life for granted. You are a happy person by nature, but you are also as stubborn as a mule. You are a lover and you are a fighter. Your strengths are certainly my weaknesses. So that leads me to who you are going to become: A crazy person. I am an emotional drama queen, as you know, and theres no one else in this world who could handle me each and every single day. Your patience, your child-like wonder, everything about you is exactly what I need. Its because of you that I know how to love and to be loved, and I owe you my life for that. I promise to be faithful and to cherish you. I vow to be there for you when you are sick or in the rare case you are sad. I promise to work on myself, everyday so that I can be more caring and more respectful. I will love you with my entire mind, heart, body and soul till death do us part. |

Wedding Vows
Thoughts?
"To my soon to be husband:
My one and only love. My first, my last. My everything. I take you, with all your faults and strengths, as I offer myself to you with all my faults and strengths. I will help you when you need help, and turn to you when I need help. I choose you as the person with whom I will spend my life. I vow to be loyal and faithful in good times and bad times. To cheer you up when you are sick or sad. I promise to listen when you want to have a serious talk. To be affectionate and caring. But, above all, I strive to be the best person I can possibly be for you and our future children, who I certainly hope take after you and your kind soul. I promise all these things to you now, and forever. Its because of you that I know how to love and to be loved and for that I am eternally grateful. I love you with my entire mind, heart and body till death do us part." *********************************************************************** I did want to add more personal info in the vows like how he made me feel when he first said I love you or what a crazy ride it's been to get to this point but I'm thinking I will save that for the note I give him before the wedding. What do you think? I timed it to be a minute. Is that too short? I CANNOT look like those pictures on the actual wedding day. I hope to recite these vows enough so that doesn't happen although I do want to express true emotions and not sound like a robot... ** p.s. wine may or may not have had an affect on these pictures |

Bridal Shower
Did you know?
![]() I did! I'm too much of a control freak not to lol But some of the guests were a huge surprise and the overall decorations/games were a complete shock. I LOVED it. And we now have so many things including new bedspread, blender system, and honeymoon clothes that we would have never have wanted to splurge on our own. You can read all about how amazing the shower was with a purple and gold 'royalty' theme on my new blog: http://shortyetsweetlife.blogspot.com/2011/11/bridal-shower.html We had a brunch which I really enjoyed and mimosas yumm. How did your showers go? Was this the first time each of your families met? It was for me but as I had expected, everyone got along well. |

Wedding Music And Songs
How much do you dislike re-posting a post UGH
I wish WBC was more advanced and saved your work continuously. Oh well here I go again...
How are you ladies?! Let me tell you, with 2 months left, I am STRESSING! I just recently booked my Dj for a phenomanal price given our off-season wedding date. He works for one of the best (the best according to NH bridal magazine) DJ services in New Hampshire; Main Event. Days after booking I received an email from him that he was going solo! After a minor freakout I was reasurred by the company that he will still be under their name until all his contracts are completed. PHEW. What a hassle!!
These babies have been a nightmare and I am
sooo glad they are almost done. I bought them at Michael's thinking that it was rediculous to spend $200+ dollars to get them custom made but still wanted them to look elegant and not tacky. Let me just tell you this, NEVER AGAIN. Do not buy these invitations! First off the template is hard to adjust. Exhibit A: ![]() (Buffet dinner & Cash Bar was off) I attempted to have Kinkos print them and that was a bad idea because THEY SUCK. Or at least that guy did. He made it quite obvious when he did not know what he was doing and he did not want to help as he screwed up not 1, not 10, TWENTY response cards and TWELVE itinerary cards. ![]() (grant you the margins were my fault but it was his fault that they were upside down. Really dude? Never heard of a test print!?) So he gives us all of our invitations (they were done good I just should have made the font larger) for FREE. Because we were there for 2 hours and I had bridezilla written all over me at that point. UGH. So back to square one with response and intinerary cards. Luckily he messed up JUST ENOUGH so that we wouldn't have to buy another box from Michael's. Now printing them on your own. What I was trying to avoid doing...What a bitch. First off the printer does not have a setting to print these response cards. After about an hour we discovered that in order for it to print rightwould have to TAPE each card to a regular piece of paper like so: ![]() And then the problem with removing the tape occurs. Because we didn't even think about double-sided tape DUR. The tape rips off the ink on the cheap-o card. Of course. Plan D. CUT the tape off the edges but still leave it on the invitation. Can you say GHETTO? Assembling the bows was not that difficult of a process thanks to Grandma but it was time consuming. Lastly, my stupid ass wrote "Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boyer" on the address labels. I copied the box and didn't realize that it was addressed to Mr. and Mrs. because they were being returned to the parents address. I can't believe I did that but did it correctly for the STD's. Oh well, I am sending them out like that. I refuse to print anything else. So that's my invitation drama. Please feel free to share yours if you have any. All in all though, I am actully quite fond of the final result and I'm so happy it's done :D (almost) ![]() ![]() ![]() (the invitations don't require an envelope. Weird but quite cost effective) ![]() |

Ask a Question
Advice needed on Rehersal dinner please!
I understand it is 'etiquette' for the grooms side of the family to pay for the rehearsal dinner but I am asking so much from his mother already (father is deceased) that I cannot put this on her too. So what to do?
Option a) Everyone pays for themselves b) Wedding party is paid for by us. Everyone else pays for themselves c) Order pizza/make food (then this raises a problem where we are going to have it) I'm liking option B. The resort has a meal plan for $30 which includes dinner (appetizer, entre, and dessert) plus breakfast. This would be ideal since everyone who is there on Friday at the rehearsal dinner should want to get breakfast the following morning. What are you ladies doing for your rehearsal dinner? Having it a restaruant? Catering? Who's paying? Lastly, do you add this to your inviation? For example 'check here if attending rehearsal dinner?' What is the etiquette for wording? HELP! |

Wedding Update
100 days left!
So what have I been doing in the last month or so?
Not as much as I'd like. Where did the time go?? Two years ago I had gotten engaged and thought "I have so much done already, what else is there? January is soo far away" The answer: PLENTY. And no hunny, January is just around the corner. Who are you kidding? Two of four of my bridal party have ordered their dresses from David's. The original choice was from a boutique. It was over-priced and wouldn't be able to come in on time. This choice is just as beautiful, and definitely more flattering. Plus David's dresses come in quickly, for those procastinating brideamaids out there...which I'm sure many of you can relate to ;) ![]() ![]() ![]() How gorgeous do they look?! My lovely bridesmaids will be wearing black and my maid of honor will be in red. All four will have white bouquets of roses and black heels. Side ponytails/bun and jewlery is up to them. I am obsessed with our photrographer. Couldn't have found a better one for what we are paying him. robertortizphotography.com (check it out). He is so out our budget it's not even funny. But that is a perk about getting married in the winter time ;) When we met him I saw these amazing photo books. So beautiful and custom made. I had to have one. He says they are $1100. N O W A Y. And I foolishly try to negotiate to which he takes $200 off. Long story short this was the dumbest impulse buy i could have ever done! This book is costing almost as much as one of my biggest purchases. The dress! And my mom can no way afford it. So we called him recently to change the contract. NO Can do :( The reduced price was locked in by him pre-paying the company and he cannot get out of his contract with them. So SOL I guess. I have checked several decorating pieces off the list including candles (almost 100 of them!); vases for along the aisle/windows; this card box (will put an old prom picture in it); sand ceremony supplies (can't wait for this). And this weekend I will be ordering the inviations from Michael's. Hoping to have them out by the end of the month! People are starting to book their rooms and it is very exciting :) To do list: 1. Figure out who is renting a bungalow/cottage 2. Get rehearsal dinner figured out. 3. Nag last bm and moh to buy dress. 4. FH and I have to come to an agreement on where the jack/jill should be. 5. Register for bridal shower? (but we really only need money... to do/not to do) 6. Find and buy red shoes- not too high though (any suggestions ladies??) 7. Buy a million more things (including huge candy bar). 8. Print out and send invitations. 9. And the list goes on... 100 Days !! |
