NWR: Valentine's Day

Bittersweet

I had told him not to get me anything this year. I stressed it because I was broke and I would feel bad if he did. But low and behold, he comes with a dozen red roses, chocolate, and a lot of candles! He’s so cute sometimes. The perfect gift! He also had a card but didn’t have the time to write in it so I’ll get that Monday! (so excited to see him twice in one weekend!) Well that was how last night went (or around 1AM today), but the rest of the day wasn’t as “special.” We woke up really late. I suggested eating at Cheers because we both had never gone there but on our way we end up in a huge fight about independent contractors vs. employees. Such a stupid fight! (aren’t they always?) I was mad at myself for letting a stupid fight blow up this way on Valentine’s Day. So to lighten the mood, we went to TJ Maxx so I could get him his V-day present. I ended up buying him a pair of work pants and some cologne because he needed these things and he would never get them for himself. Even though they weren’t “usual” Valentine’s Day presents I think it shows how much I love him. Also, I made a card for him with “10 reasons why I love You” (got this idea from another WBC bride so thanks!) and it was my first “DIY” project, kind of haha. It was in our wedding colors. Speaking of our colors, those candles in picture 2 are perfect for our wedding decor. Don’t you agree? He got them at Wal-Mart. I’m tempted to go look for more…

All in all it was a great day. We had wings which is more our style anyway and I also got some cute things from my mom! I love Valentine’s Day :) How was your day?
