THE MEANING OF FLOWERS
The carrying of flowers by the bride has its roots in ancient times when it was believed that strong smelling herbs and spices would ward off and drive away evil spirits, bad luck and ill health.
During Victorian times, flowers took on an additional significance as lovers would send messages to each other using different flowers, with each flower having its own meaning. Recent accomplishments
Well since the last time I posted I 've booked a photographer, Colin Photography(shawncolin.com), I've also changed my bridesmaid dress b/c I was unsure how my colors would look on those dresses. I also met with my wedding planner and we will go with a Vintage New Orleans, Hollywood theme lol. Once it all comes together It will make more sense. Now I'm getting a much clearer picture of what I want and how things will look. So, I know it's backwards but I need to start looking for my wedding gown. I figure I have procrastinated long enough. I just have anxiety about it for some reason. Either way I plan to have it picked by the end of july maybe lol.
What do you think of the new bridesmaid dress I've picked? It's made by Jordan Fashions and will be in buttercup yellow. |

What do you think?
I went to a bridal boutique today, and actually decided on a dress I want for my bridesmaids. I really love them but I am unable to picture them in my colors. What do you think of these dresses in a light yellow with ivory lace? If it doesn't look right I will have to change. I don't want to hook up anything.
At first I wanted to go with something like the orange dress I have posted, but I think these other dresses go better with my theme. I don't want to do gray with ivory lace b/c the guys are wearing gray tux's and it would be too dull. Please post your HONEST opinion! |

I want to do a vintage New Orleans theme, but I have no idea where to begin with that. Either way, that's why I like the first one so much. For the most part i'm clueless as to what I really like because I haven't started trying any on yet.

The Proposal
My FH proposed to me on February 12, 2009. He caught me off guard. It would have been obvious had he done it on Valentine's day, so even though I was sure I would know before he did it, I didn't. So he got me! Lol!
Either way he pretended he was going to ask me about some mess that he'd heard, so I proceeded to listen to what he was saying, but not fully. Lol! When he asked ," Will you marry me?", I was so astonished that the moment had came, that I was speechless for a few seconds. Of course I said yes, and here we are. |
