Wedding Favors
Jam Favors
Well ladies, I was going to post the template for the jam labels on here. However, I can not figure out how for the life of me. Lol. So if you would like for me to send it to you, just drop me your email adress.
We made the jams and then just printed the labels on shipping labels. We cut circle patterns on fabric, hot glued it to the lid, and tied twine around it to secure it. The jams were a HUGE hit. I still have guests calling me for the recipe or to see if we have extras to give! |

DRESS FOR SALE! CHEAP!
Hey guys! My wedding has passed and I was a 2 dress bride. I did not wear my WTOO Marisol gown at all. No alterations, and I only tried it on for about 30 minutes. I decided that I wanted to wear an all lace gown instead. It is very beautful. I paid over 900 for it, but I will take 300 or best offer!

Ask a Question
Where to find these jars?
Does anyone know where I can find jars like these to use for my drink station??
I tried looking on ebay but I don't even know what to type into the search area. What are these type of jars called? If you type in drink dispenser or punch bowl it is not the same type of bowls. |

yet another centerpiece option
My friend and I concocted an option for a tall centerpiece to go on every other table. We just spray painted twigs, hot glued carnations and hung crystal garland on them. Then we covered a cylinder vase with damask paper and stuck the twigs in them. Voila!
This took a long time to do. Like 1 hour for 1 of them. It is a very affordable option which is the main reason I like it. However, I dont want it to look cheap. I want to know if it looks presentable. I want your honest opinion!! Its hard to judge something on your own that you make. It all blurs together after you look at it for so long. lol |

Final Decisions...
Cake and Flowers
I loooooove feathers in bouquets. I might add some in the biridesmaids gerbers? Im not real sure how that one would look.
I got a new dress that is like I wanted from the beginning. Lacey, sequined, cap sleeves, & vintage-ish. Will post pics soon. So now that I have this new dress I have wanted my style for the day to learn more towards the vintage 50's style. Its late and Im tired and this blog has gone no where! Goodnight! |

Wedding Reception
Cocktail Reception
Has anyone ever been to a reception where only heavy hor'devours were served?
Here is my situation: When Mr. H and I first got engaged, my parents were all aboard the money train. They offered to help us with just about everything financially. Now, time is creeping up on us, with only 6 months left, and my mom and dad are having financial issues. The only thing that we have put money down on is the deposit for the venue, my dress, the cake, the dj, and the photographer. The money for the dress, cake, and photographer has came from Mr. H and I. I am worried that, with the remaining balances on these things, the floral bill, and with the catering they wont be able to come up with it all. I dont think a wedding constitutes one going into debt. I would hate for Mr. H and I to enter our marriage in debt, and I would hate for my parents to have to carry the burden solely on them. So, given my situation, I have started to put one foot in front of the other and do some reasearch. I have found what is called the cocktail reception. There are a few chairs for elderly guests to sit, but no formal seating. Most people set up several hightops and do a minimalist centerpiece on them. This would be a major PRO on the budget list because it would eliminate the need for elaborate centerpieces and pricey linens. We would serve finger foods and have one signature cocktail along with beer and wine. The only cons I have to this idea are: 1. we have already paid $250 to reserve our venue (which is restricted to in house catering) 2. we have already booked the dj This means, if we did the cocktail reception we would have to take the $250 hit to find a different venue. Financially speaking would it be better for me to go with this, or to stick to my 150 person buffet style dinner? ( P.S. If any of you GA brides have venue suggestions, I would grealty appreciate them!) Also, would you think it was weird if you went to this type of reception and there was a dj? What time of day would you have this, since guests wouldnt be served a full meal? |

Pocketfold Invites tutorial?
Does anyone have any good tutorials for pocketfolds? I attempted one, but im not thrilled with the outcome. I had a tutorial for a 2 panel pocketfold, but only want a one panel. I just put a picture on the 2nd panel, because I have no idea what else to put there.
With the 2 panel, I had a lot of trouble getting the seams to line up, which made ugly creases where i didnt want them to be. Or, even better, does anyone know of anywhere that I can just order the pocketfolds already made?? |
