Bridesmaids
Should we all have the same hair?

Please help me out. What are your thoughts for your bridesmaids’ hair on your wedding day? Should everyone have the same hair style? My bridesmaids are asking me and I really have no clue. I just do not want anything ghetto. Do you think it would be too much if we all had the same hairstyle? Please let me know.

It's really a personal choice for you.

I have told all my girls to have thier hair up. One of my bridesmaids has "crazy" hair and I know she will make it not so elegant for the wedding. This way I was kinda able to control and stay happy.

If you want the bridesmaids to look a certain way, I def think it's a good idea to give them guide lines, but still allow them to choose within your preferences. Like if you told them to do curls, they can still choose the style as long as they have curls.  That way you will still be happy, but they won't look too cookie cutter..

I am letting my girls choose their own hairstyles.  People have different preferences and some people don't feel comfortable wearing their hair a certain way (eg. I don't like wearing my hair up).  It's going to be a long day and I want them to be as comfortable as possible (especially since discomfort often shows in photos).  Plus, I don't want them all looking like clones... lol!

I am going to let my girls choose whatever style they like best. At the end of the day, they have to love how they look and feel-so it reflects in the photos and themselves. I was a bridesmaid and the bride lets us choose and I was so thankful for that.

I was in 2 weddings and we all had to wear our hair up.I'm making my bridesmaid wear their hair up because I will be the only one wearing my hair down.I think it looks elegant when the hair is up anyway.

I asked all of mine to have the same hair, but that's because they all had very different dresses, makeup and jewelry. I only asked that their hair, dresses & shoes matched so that they looked somewhat coordinated and not just random guests. ultimately, it's up to you and what you're comfortable with and want to see in your photos 10 years from now. Doing it again, I'd let them go with whatever suits their personality so long as i've seen it before the wedding (trials are lifesavers!!) and it's acceptable.

I think it really depends on the style of the wedding, and the girls hair for that matter for instance my MOH has really long hair and wants it up so she's not sweating, but my 2 other bridesmaids have really short hair and I'm not sure how it would look up.. I haven't 100% decided yet but I know I need to!

No matching hair here...I want my girls to be able to express themselves as much as possible while keeping a coordinated look. I know my MOH plans on dyeing her highlights to match the red in the rest of the girls dresses and that's cool by me. BUT we're kind of wacky round these parts.
IF YOU want your girls to all wear their hair the same way go for it! I would just personally pick a style opposite of yours so you stand out from the rest.
If it seems your bridal party is having a hard time deciding, decide for them or with them. Or pick styles that would flatter each girl and let them choose their favorite... Best of luck! I'm sure no matter what you decide it won't look "ghetto".

Thanks everyone. You have been very helpful. A few things really stuck out. 1) Lovealways- "discomfort often shows in photos". Wow! I will not forget that as I plan ahead. 2) acowleysoontobe- "they have to love how they look and feel-so it reflects in the photos and themselves". 3) sparklette9713- "Best of luck! I'm sure no matter what you decide it won't look "ghetto". You guys have been so helpful. Really. Like super really. My main fear is that it would look ghetto or a mess in general. My party is a good set of girls, but I would hate to find out they are something else on my wedding day. lol I am thinking something with curls would be nice, but I am going to let them decide. THANK-YOU GUYS!!!
