This is kellydave4ever's Pink Wedding!

We went to NYC for what i thought to be just a well deserved (and much needed) vacation! Little did i know he had the whole thing planned for quite some time now.
We spent the day sightseeing, had the olive garden for dinner (my FAV!), after dinner i wanted to go on a skyline tour, dave wanted to go to central park, i told him i didnt want to go there that night and persisted on the skyline tour, but he made it clear that he really really really wanted to go to central park.. so he won and we went.

we took a white horse drawn carriage ride through central park in the evening, the park was lit up with tiny twinkle lights it was gorgeous!!!!

and there in the middle of all this he proposed!!!!

i was sooooooo caught off guard, never saw it coming and being the sap that clearly i am.. i cried!!!

it was perfect :)

Funny thing... whenever dave and i had "what if" conversations about one day getting married, he always said engagement rings should be solitaire diamond rings. i disagreed as i had always wanted a 3 stone ring!! As a joke one night i cut out all these 3 stoned rings from a magazine and stuck 'em to the fridge, dave came home and was freakingout (quietly of course! lol) because he had already purchased ( A 3 STONE RING ) and thought that i had found it.

luckily i hadn't cuz i was sooooooo surprised!!!


Also attatched are some ideas of what we want for wedding bands.
i was one with multiple stones, dave wants something titanium, he doesnt want a flashy ring.

Our ceremony will take place in belfountain park.

they are shutting the whole park down for us for complete privacy.

The park is gorgeous, filled with lakes, ponds, fountains, rivers, bridges, cobblestone pathways, caves and in the center of it all is a huge waterfall.

our ceremony will take place on a cobblestone terrace overlooking the river leading down from the falls!

Our reception will take place at the Caldon Inn, in a huge outdoor marquee style white tent, complete with a permanent hard floor (plus dance floor) as well as french windows.

Our wedding is going to be black and white with Shades of pink as our accent colour. Trying to keep it classical black and white but without the "blah" factor.

My bouquet is going to be Stargazer lillies with hot pink roses, the girls bouquets will be hot pink roses to match mine.

and the guys butonnierres are going to be a single hot pink rose, with the exception of dave who will have a stargazer lilly to tie in with me :)

They are going to be wearing these with black peeptoe heels.

We booked our Baker at a wedding show in september, for an early booking we're receiving 25% off :)

our cake will be three layers, vanilla cake with a fresh strawberry center.
White icing, with pink and black ribbon wrapped around it.
We'll have some Star gazer lilies stratigically placed throughout as well.
and for the cake toppers we are using monogram letters, a Small "K" and "D" for us a large "B" for our soon to be NEW last name :)

Centerpieces will be similar to the picture, but in pink.
the vase is taller and thicker and will have a single rose standing up inside the vase (like in the second picture) .... hot pink roses and star gazer lillies like in our bouquets to match. The draping green strands are going to be replaced be pink orchids, draping over the sides.
There will also be large pink willow branches coming out of the top, to add height and volume.
the table will be covered in pink rose petals, and about 6 glass votive holders that will be wrapped in a thick pink ribbon, with a thinner black one over top and tied in a bow.

I'm giving the brides maids their jewellery as part of their gift.

this is the hair!!!!

My place cards have a black and white damask border around them, with their names written in black. They are going to be laying on the napkins and and being held down with a Polished Black river rock. The black rock will have a monogramed "B" on it in crystals.

i have the cards, purchased the rocks and am now looking for a place that will sell the letters, but most places sell letters as a whole alphabet set, i just want "B"'s anyone know of a place??

We got engaged in a horse and carriage it only seemed appropriate to tie one into our wedding!!!

we originally wanted to use a carriage as my main entrance but there is only one company that does it in our area and they were gonna charge us $2400 for an hour !!!!! which is just mind blowing and such a waste of money when we would only be using it for like 20 minutes.


soooo we scrapped that idea in a hurry, and i found this instead.

I didn't want the same old boring white card box for our wedding, so i've been surfing the net and scouring stores in search of something different and unique and ooooh my goodness have i found it!!!

They're charging $100 for it but i'm gonna make it myself and obviously change the colours to suite our wedding. but oooowwweee do i love it.

I'm buying each brides maid a hot pink paper parasol.
i think we'll have alot of fun with them when picture time comes around, plus it'll make for some interesting takes rather then that same tired poses..... trust me.... there will be NO tired poses at this wedding!!!


Anyways, its a cute idea, its cheap at $5 an umbrella and they'll look really good with the black dresses!!

Love is in the Air !!!!

We cant have confetti or rice in the park where our ceremony is taking place, nor did i want it.
i've always wanted bubbles!!!
So we're going to rent a bubble maker plus have a bottle of bubbles sitting on everyones chair when they arrive.

the bubbles will be in a wedding cake shape with a pink ribbon tied around them and a tag that we designed. (see pic )

This is our candy buffet sign, it is going to be framed in black and have a pink satin ribbon tied into a bow adorned to the top black damask portion.

For the ceremony since its outside and its gorgeous already, we are trying to keep it to a minimum not to overshadow whats already there.

So on the gates lining the terrace we are going to have ivory pew bows hanging on all the gate posts.

Pink rose petals covering the aisle, and along the edges of the aisle we're thinking of using pink parasols, or possibly hanging kissing balls.

i'm really liking the parasol idea though.

Going along with the theme "fairty tale endings" that we have .....
my mom bought me this great garter set.

It has a tiny glass slippper on it and the words "and they lived happily ever after" embroidered on it.

it also came with a "throw away" garter so that i can keep mine as a keepsake!!

We're purchasing these cowboy hats to wear at our Jack N' Jill as well as for our bachelor and bachelorette parties.

i think they're super cute and can't wait to get them!!

For the ceremony we will have a white basket filled with tissue packages, labelled "to dry your tears of joy"

For the cake table i wanted it to be something special....
im still working on getting the carriage made from balloons to go around it however im finding it hard to get a company that does it!!!

In the meantime though..... i want my cake table to be filled with pink rose petals, candles and my "i do" letters.

i just purchased the letters for $2 each at Michaels, and am now deciding on how i want to decorate them, any ideas?

In case you havent figured it out yet, our color scheme, is black and white damask, with highlights in a pastel and hot pink.
i love the two shades of pink together with the black, its not too funky, or too plain, its pefect!!

Too add extra thoughftul detail through out our day i've purchased a whole bunch of square pillar candles which i am wrapping in pink and black ribbon. The candles i bought from the Dollarstore. SInce they're just for decor and not purpose i dont need high quality... and the cheap ones look the same as the expensive ones!!! i think they'll look great!!

I am making these cute little reserved signs for the chairs at the wedding ceremony. Where my family and his will sit. Not that they are needed as everyone pretty much knows the first row or two are off limits, however it makes for a cute touch.

im printing them off on cardstock and then mounting with pink and black paper and tying with a black satin ribbon!

Instead of a guest book we're going to have everyone sign this black frame, that we can hang on in our living room (it matches our decor perfectly)

This cute little carriage will hold our wedding bands!
We dont have a ring bearer or a flower girl ... we have our puppy wearing a wedding dress being escorted down the aisle by one of my younger brothers, so we're thinking either he can carry this or the best man.

Since its going to be a HOT august day, i wanted the girls hair to be up so that it was cooler for them, plus if its down and their curls wilted it would be really noticiable, this way there is some room for flexibility.

We are having a wish tree at our reception, which we are making ourselves. The purpose of the tree is for guests to write down their advice or well wishes on a card and than hang their wish from our tree.

The cards i have pictured to the left, with our names and date on it, i've printed those on cardstock, mounted on pink paper, strung with pink satin ribbon and have a tiny silver heart hanging from the bottom of each.

for the wish tree we're purchasing a large vase, filled with water and white stones, or glittery marbles or something, a huge will branch (willow branches when steamed can be moulded into any shape you want) and then glue gunning pink lillies onto it.

i have also purchased a white square ceramic plate like in the picture that the cards will rest on (dollarama for $1)

There is a sign that will be posted nearby with a poem and will be framed in black, you can see a copy of the print below.

SInce our ceremony is outdoors there is always that fear of what if it rains!?!?!!??! i really honestly doubt that it will, maybe i'm being naieve,
but none the less, we dont really have much of a back up plan, we could rent a tent just "in case" but its an added expense that i dont really want. So i saw this idea and thought it was cute. To have a basket of pink umbreallas available, in case it does, or for the elderly people to use to sheild themselves from the hot august sun.

Pink umbrella's from the dollar store ($1 each cant beat that)
and then tie black satin ribbon around them to add some class, and some sort of tag with a cute line about rainy days or something......

This is the sign that will go on the basket holding our ceremony bubbles. The baskets are are purchasing from Michaels for 40% off so they work out to be under $10!!

These maps i drew up myself on Publisher, printed them off on card stock, and are going to mount them back to back with a pink border around them as a finishing touch!

These are the monogramed table numbers we made.
These too will be framed in the same black frames we are using throughout the reception hall

its hard to see on this picute but the "B" in the background is much more pink in the printed versions!

We're not having a slideshow at our wedding, but i would like some other sort of creative idea to have pictures of us on display. I dont want to just frame a bunch and put them on a table.. i want something unique and creative, thats also visually interesting... anyone else doing anything like this or have any ideas or pictures!?!?!?!!

alrighty.... for my brides maids i am giving each of them a pink canvas tote bag that will have their first name and "bridesmaid" embroidered on it in black. The bags i am buying online from Ebay, 6 bags embroidery included for $36 !!! The bags aren't close to being finished yet or even full, but some of the things i have and /or am purchasing are as follows:
Thank you flip flops, for them to wear at the reception ($12)
A rose infused pink pillar candle
Pink coasters (everyone has a hope chest in the making, they can add to it with these)
a Romance novel personalized to them---- a company called "Torrid Romance" has several different titles you can choose from, then you give them ur friends names, their best friend, boyfriend, looks, hair color, eye colour, favourite sayings, fav restaurants, pets names... ect ect and they put all these details into the book so that the story literally stars them!! Its a great idea since all my girls are big readers, and at only $36 a book (buy 3 get one free) i know they'll love it!
Their bags will also contain their jewellery for the wedding day, black an silver rhinestone necklaces with matching earrings... i've ordered these so once i receive them i will post a picture.

thats all i have so far.... its a work in progress!!

another thing i have already made and put together are bridesmaid survival kits. Each girl gets their own box filled with everything that they will need for the big day, they can leave their box in the limo until they need something from it "hopefully no emergencies strike though!!"
the boxes i bought from the dollar store, with labels i made myself.

and as a joke condoms with a note saying "unless you came with a groomsmen they're off limits" --- all the grooms men have girlfriends, a few of which are my bridesmaids!

From the beginning i said that i wanted our favours to be PRACTICAL, not something you'll stick on a shelf and collect dust.
i love the idea of these favor coasters, the black and white pattern match our theme great, and the guests can put their own pictures in them to personalize any way they want. The coasters come in packs of two and tied with white organza ribbon, and are $1.85 per set !!!
can't beat that!!!

I really like this idea of hanging monograms at your ceremony site.
We have big cobblestone pillars like this at the top of our "aisle" so it would be nice to have our monograms hanging as an added touch.
add that on to another DIY project!!!

its great as our ceremony is in a conservation park which is VERY easy to get lost in, this way we can use markers and point them in the right direction. The kit is $20 and includes 42 pieces... stakes, signs, balloons and arrows, everything you need to make a bunch of signs!!!

As most of the usual readers know i posted my monogram a little while ago, less than a week ago actually, and offered to help anyone that needed help creating one, i've had an enormous overload of emails coming in from a number of brides asking for me to design their wedding day monogram, and to be honest its getting hard to keep up!!

I have been working the past few months on building a business plan for my own wedding planning and design company, which is something that i've always had a passion for. A strong artistic background and a flair for perfection has given me the skills to come up with creative and visually pleasing ideas and products!!

As a result, i'm going to start small for now until i have the means to open full throttle.

Anything design related i can do, nothing is too small or too large.

Jack n' jill planning, ideas, and game suggestions is hard to come by on the internet, not too many sites have much to offer, and if so its pretty much the same thing over and over again.

For our jack n' jill we're having a casino inspired theme.... black, white, and red. Poker tables, black jack tables, craps, raffles, 50/50, over under wheel, crowne and anchor and then some "interesting" games which i will post details about later!!!

For our jack n' jill tickets we're thinking of charging $15.... and for the ticket we're going to use cards that i made up, and had printed on card stock, cut and edges rounded just like real cards. Something different and unique that everyone will appreciate. Apon purchasing a "card" they will also receive a flyer that outlines some of the things going on, these flyers i also made and had printed.

Our candy buffet is going to be pink and white.

I purchased Pink chinese food take out boxes, that i plan on wrapping in a thick white ribbon and then sealing with a monogram sticker, or we may just for go the monogram and use a flower, similar to the picture posted.

I've been searching for candy scoops, but found these heart shaped scoops that i like soooooo much better and only $3.50 each!

i have the cork from our engagement, and from when we purchased our house, so the wedding will be a nice addition!!

i had spent hours and hours and countless dollars devouring every bridal magazine i could find. i knew exactly what i wanted, but finding it was hard. I wanted something tight on top, ruffles, strapless, sweetheart cut and a bow at the waste. Not to much to ask...
apparently so... out of honestly... about 12 magazines i had found 1.. thats right... ONE dress that i liked. It was only available in the states, and waaaaaaaaaay out of my price league.

so my mom began harassing me to just go browse in some stores, she knew it was going to be a nightmare finding a dress, as my mind was made up.. i wanted THAT dress.

So we went to BALLETS in toronto, swear to god.. SECOND dress i put on was THE dress from the magazine.
my mom and i were in disbelief.. things like this NEVER happen to me!!

and if that wasn't crazy enough... the dress was RIDICULOUSLY below the cost i anticipated paying for a dress!!!

We walked out of the store having paid $500 for a dress, tiara, and matching veil.... deal of the CENTURY!!!!!

i decided that i wanted 2 pairs of shoes...
flip flops for the ceremony as its in a park.. grassy fields, cobblestone walk ways, and being in heels could be disasterous!!
and i wanted nice heels for the reception!!

aaaaaand i found the perfect shoes...
i am IN LOVE with the heels and only $60!!!!!
