A little something we found out.
It pays to ask questions... even those which you might think are stupid
so this didn't save... try it again...

I spoke with the owner of the restaurant we are having the reception at. He said "No confetti". I tried to explain about the little crystal confetti ... and how it's not really confetti... Apparently the reason they have a no confetti policy is because it's hard to clean off of the carpet. Anyway, so one of my bm's and I went to Joann fabrics and found this sheer organza in light pink that has small seed beads fused right to the fabric (we were looking for material for overlays).... and so I'm thinking that's not confetti. So, here is the question... do I buy some of the little diamond confetti stuff to show the owner and risk it being turned down and being out the money or do I go with the beaded overlay?

I probably wouldn't. Maybe someone could put it out before you got there and play stupid. But if they were stopped in the middle of putting it out, you would end up with bare tables. I would go with the organza to be safe.

It not really confetti so I think you should just go for it.

I say buy the organza over lay. I think it would be very pretty and there is no chance they would make you take it off.  But on the other hand you seem to really want the confetti on the tables. You might call the owner back and tell him that you have thrown away the confetti idea and was wondering if he had a policy of diamond jewels instead. That way it makes him think that you took what he said into consideration and tried to come up with a alternative for decorations. You might also show him a picture. I understand about the confetti cause it sticks to the carpet but jewels on the other hand won't stick. Just a thought. Also are you ordering the jewels online? If so why don't you ask the retailer if you could just have one as a sample and take the sample in that way your not buying a whole lot to go to waste. If your buying from a retail store go and buy them take one out show him and if he says no keep the reciept and take them back. Make sure of the stores return policy first.

It really isn't confetti, so I would just do it... but that is not always the smartest thing I guess. Can you just buy one pouch, show the owner and then if he likes it great and if he doesn't just return it?

Kellyjaxn: I would so go to dollar store and buy a little bag that would cost me a buck and show them to him.  It doesn't matter if thats not really the one you're using, it's just to give him an idea...

Candy4brandi: If u're putting yours on mirrors, I don't think it's a problem at all.  They prob have that policy so that people who want to have the ceremony there don't throw rice or petals or any kind of confetti on the carpet anyway.
