I'm Married!!!
Some non-pro pics to share!
Hey ladies...I'm back! And I'm married!!!
We had honestly the most beautiful, perfect day! It was absolutely everything I could have dreamed of and more! The weather was perfect, decor, flowers, everything! It was SUCH a good party too! Everyone had a blast and that's what was most important to me! Shockingly enough I only cried a bit while walking down the aisle and that was it! I was just so calm and so relaxed the whole day..it was amazing! I cannot wait to get my pro pics back as these ones are all just from friends and they are amazing! Our honeymoon was also amazing, we did a Carribean Cruise and it was so much fun! I'm so sad to be home though :( I have the "can't believe it's all over" depression pretty badly, lol. It all went by so quickly!! Even though I stayed sober, and was totally calm and tried to 'take everything in', I still feel like it just went too quickly!!! Definitely ladies..my best recommendation as of right now is... look around, take it all in as best you can, as before you know it - it's all going to be over! Take your time to talk to people, walk around, and just stay relaxed, this is your day, it's finally here and all eyes are on you! So happy to share these pics with you gals...hope you like them! :) |

2 days to go!!
What else could go wrong?
So...3 sleeps to go!! Ah!! I'm getting married on Saturday!! :D
This has been a HECTIC week... I have been so calm for the last couple of weeks, "To-Do" list has been under control, things have been fantastic. I haven't been stressed, nervous, nothing. Which is very surprising actually considering I've had numerous meltdowns along the way. So what happened this week you ask? Well - on Monday morning (5 days before my wedding) I get an email from our limo company stating that our late night limo shuttle is no longer available as it was in an accident on the weekend. The limo company did not offer to help me find a new one, or really seem to care, they just said 'oh sorry, goodluck finding a new one on such short notice'. So I did not panic, I didn't even get angry, I just got on the phone and started calling places. By Tuesday night I had a new shuttle worked out and all is well :) What happened next you ask? Well on Tuesday we found out there was some family drama happening that we had not been aware of, and 2 of my FH's family were no longer going to be coming to our wedding. My seating chart is done already, and these 2 people were sitting at his parent's table. So I couldn't leave that table with 2 people less as it would look very obvious at the front of the tables and then people would start to question why there were 2 empty seats and that would create more drama... so.. I had to re-arrange and re-do some of my seating chart. Again.. I did not get upset, I just got to work and fixed the situation. (I don't care to get into the drama, its non sense and I'm sure all parties involved will regret it later - but I don't care about it right now and neither does FH) So what else could possibly happen this week you say? I received a phone call at work today around noon from my caterer - letting me know the coordinator in charge of my wedding has been fired. She left no notes, and they're not sure what was to be ordered as far as chairs, linens, etc etc. So I had to go through my whole wedding details with the new person - who just started with the company this week!! So ---minor meltdown begins at this point. I started crying at my desk at work -- (side note - just 2 weeks ago we had to go through all of the details of our wedding with a new coordinator at the catering company as they had fired the previous one as well and there were no notes - so within 2 weeks the same thing happened again!) All has been sorted out, I've spoken with the owner of the company and put him in his place, he was extremely apologetic about the whole situation and assures me he will oversee the whole day and make sure it goes off the way it should. So - I got over it - stopped crying, carried on my day at work - and decided I am NOT coming to work tomorrow. I was only going to be taking Friday off, but I decided to take tomorrow off as well.. as I don't think I could handle any thing else going wrong so I just want to be home! Then.. tonight... we go to pick up FH's Tux. There is no vest. Apparently they forgot to order it. All the groomsmen have vests, but not my FH. So - nothing major apparently, they're ordering it in and hopefully it will be here by Friday. You'd think I'd be losing my mind right? I'm not.. I figure.. everything happens in 3's right.. I've had 3 pretty significant things happen this week (I don't count the vest as significant as they assured me there will be no worries, and worst case we find a black vest elsewhere - thats fixable). So -- hopefully -- and I'm not trying to jinx myself -- I've been tested here... my 3 things have happened. Everything else will run smoothly right???? Our rehearsal is tomorrow.. and now that I have the day off I'm going to pick up my dress, make final preps for dinner (which we're doing at our house), clean my house, and start packing for my honeymoon! I'm excited!! Can't wait to just get this party started as I desperately need this day to get here so things can stop going wrong!!! Still smilin tho :D |

Help! How to include my dad's birthday?
I'm a terrible daughter... my dad's 65th birthday is the day after my wedding... and it has JUST dawned on me now that I should probably do something to recognize that at my wedding.
WHAT SHOULD I DO? I thought of having the DJ play happy birthday at some point throughout the night for him... but hadn't really put any more thought or specifics into it. Geeze.. I'm so consumed in myself! lol. I KNOW that he would not care and would not expect me to even mention his birthday on 'my big day' but clearly I want to recognize it somehow! We're having our cake as dessert, and our speeches are being said during the dessert. So it's not even like I can put a candle in his cake, as other people will be speaking and such while he is eating his cake. Should I do a happy birthday shout out to him during my speech? Or should I do something different at another point in the evening? Help! I will welcome any suggestions! |

Shower/Bachelorette!
some pics and details about the fun had!
My sister and mother threw me a beautiful bridal shower a couple of weeks ago. It was so nice, low key, but lovely. Fun games but nothing to 'cheesy' and lots of great food. My mom made sure there was a chocolate fountain, lots of skittles (my favourite candy), and lots of wine! Haha.
It was a lot of fun to open all my presents and just feel the love from all my lady friends and family.. felt so special to know how much work my sister, my MOH, and my mom put into it! All of my gifts were things off my registry as well which was awesome! I didn't really get any of those 'random' things that you just don't know what to do with! Haha. My FH was so happy when I brought the 'loot' home! Attached are a couple pics of it. Also last week was my bachelorette! We decided to stay in and have a fun martini party at my sister's house. We all dressed up in cocktail dresses and drank various martinis all night! We played some fun games such as "who can carve the best zuchinni into the shape of a penis" and "pin the penis on the naked man" lol..and of course "have you ever". We drank a lot, ate a lot of junk, had a dance party in the kitchen and ended the night in my sister's hot tub. It was so great to have all my besties in one room and just having a great gals night! It was way more fun than going out to a bar as it was just more intimate and we could be totally ridiculous and silly! I loved every minute of it! I am so grateful for my sister and my bridesmaids throwing together such an awesome time!! My work also threw me a surprise bridal shower yesterday. It was SO nice. They did a potluck lunch, and had it all decorated in my colours with a couple pics of FH and myself up. They all pooled together and got us two beautiful muskoka style chairs from Home Outfitters. They're awesome!! I can't wait, only 9 days!! So exciting and I love all this special 'princess' time that is all about us! hahah. |

Wedding Reception
Seating Chart/Table Numbers
Seating chart is done! Yeah!
I basically used the same idea as my invites and used that look for my seating chart. I think it turned out great. It's in a frame I picked up from Michaels for $20 and I will sell it afterwards hopefully! It's going to stand on a big easel that my decorator has. Table numbers are nearly done. One side I have the table number, another side I have the menu, bar menu, and times for shuttle service after the reception.. and on the third side I have the lyrics to our first song. :) I'm done 4 of them..6 more to do tonight and then they'll be done too! So close!! 11 days!! :D Getting excited! The table numbers are the LAST of my DIY projects...and then I'm just organizing my clothes, packing for the honeymoon..and thats it!! YEE!! |

Reception Bags for the kids..
Just some updates on stuff..
So I totally played hooky today at work...so I could get some stuff done for the wedding, and so I could get my tan onnnn. Every weekend it seems to be crappy weather, and it was beautiful all week, so I totally took advantage of it today!
So this morning I put myself to work and put together the bags for the little kids, and the favours for the older kids for the wedding. For the little ones (ages 3-5) I put together little bags which include: bubbles, colouring books, crayons, stickers, hot wheels cars for the boys, my little pony toys for the girls, some goldfish, fruit snacks, and some light up bracelets for the party. I made the bags so that they would fit in with the table decor a little bit. For the older kids (ages 8-12) I gave each of them a disposable wedding camera with a photo scavenger hunt list. These guys are older so don't really need 'toys' but thought it would be nice to give them something to do other than just listen to the grown ups talk, haha. I also wrapped all my bridal party gifts..and started organizing the tubs of stuff I have to give my decorator/day of coordinator! What a truly productive day!! :D |

Wedding Reception
Seating chart help!
I had no idea this would be so difficult!!
I finally have all my rsvp's.. and FH and I have sat down and tried to figure out our seating chart. But its impossible!!! The caterer said ideally she likes to have 8 per table based on our venue etc. She said 7 doesn't look bare however, and 9 is ok but can be a bit 'cozy'. So here's my dilemna... I can't get tables of 8 to work!!! I don't have enough people that 'know each other' or I have too many people. Or groups of like 5 that all know each other that I don't want to split up. GAHHH!!! So here's what I have and someone tell me if this is super tacky and bad?! 4 tables of 7 people 2 tables of 8 people 4 tables of 9 people (the people with 9 all have children at them so they take up less space i assume - so it won't be too 'cozy') Is this ok? Or should I have another go at it and try to re-jig? I don't know any other way to not make people super pissed off or uncomfortable tho! Help! |
