Reception Entertainment
Is anyone having games or anything fun and exciting during the reception?
My sister was married 2 years ago and at her reception my other sister got up after the speeches and put off a few wedding games. They were a lot of fun and very entertaining.

One game they did was the "marriage test." The bride and groom take off their shoes and hold one of each in their hands (the bride has one of hers in her left, one of his in her right; the groom has his in his left and hers in the right). My sister asked questions and the bride & groom hold up the shoe for their answer (Who hogs the remote? Who watches the most TV? Who snores the loudest? Who controls the checkbook? Who's the messiest/neatest? Who hogs the blankets in bed? etc. The bride & groom are back to back so they do not see each others answers, only the guests get to see what their answers were. It was very funny. After the reception her guests were commenting on how great the games were and how entertaining it was.

I was just curious if anyone had any fun games planned or any kind of entertainment for the reception?

I've heard of that game!  It sounds like so much fun!  i think I read about it being played at the rehearsal dinner... maybe not.  This may sound crazy, I'm really hoping to have a moonbounce at my reception (it will be outside).  We're not having a sit down dinner or anything.  I'm thinking about maybe having some carnival games or something fun like that.  I just want the reception to be a big party.

The idea of the game is to see how they view their relationship. Like if you ask the question "who's the boss of the relationship?" it was funny cause my sister held up her shoe that she was the boss and he held up her shoe too. It was funny. Everyone knew she was the boss of the relationship. Then they were asked "who is the better driver?" They both put up their own shoe. It was funny. It's just a game and no real point, just to make people laugh.

That sounds like fun! We are going to play games too (I would actually love to know about any other games you thought were fun). Instead of a garter toss we are going to have the boys do a competition. And we are going to have a "dare jar" (off the martha stewart website) of just light fun dares guests can do. I also have some other ideas brewing, but I think games are the way to go. :D

i think we might do a few minutes of that....many of family only meet David once....since we live in FL and all them live in MI... so it's like getting to know both of us as a couple..... by the way I'm the boss...lol

i want us to have games at our reception...we actually wanted to have a few games during the cocktail hour.  We are a fun couple and we want to have some traditional things but also some nontraditional things too - so having games is sooo awesome!!!
