Ask a Question
What are your post wedding plans for your dress?
What are you doing or what have you done with your wedding dress after your wedding???

I have three options:
1) Preserve
2) Sell
3) Trash the dress session

I am completely over the wedding! I am glad it is over! I love being married, but I am happy that the wedding is gone. Every day that passes, I am happy that the wedding day is farther away. I can't wait to forget it!

I wore my dress and loved it! Is it worth it to save it for the chance that a relative who may want to wear it later? I really do not care about the dress, but maybe someday I will? What do you think? What would you do or plan to do?

Wedding Count Down
1 Month, and Still No Cake and More!
Today is one month from the wedding. FH and I are excited about being married, but there is still so much that needs to be done.

1) Cake- I wonder if it is too late to order a cake. I am not concerned because it will give me an excuse to have pound cake for a wedding cake!!!

2) Music- I need to talk to the flute and cello player to make sure that they are okay with my choices for ceremony music. I am dealing with the DJ for the reception and dinner.

3) I still have not figured out the make up and hair.

4) Most of the invitations are out. I wanted to wait until a dry day before I mailed off the rest, but rain is not stopping in CT!

With the move and job search, I need to post at least weekly on here. WBC definely keeps me encouraged and on top of things! I Hope your planning is going better than mine!

Regular Life-Wedding Life
Gradution Day & New Apartment
Good things are happening!

Today was a rainy graduation day, but I am thrilled to have my shiny new MBA!!! My dad, uncle, FH, and sister came with me.

We ate Thai and went to visit my new apartment!

My family approved of the apartment and lived it. It is acually a condo I am renting. My sister did not like that I am moving a few towns over, but she loved that there is a guest room for her. The view from the balcony is lovely. I expect that on July 4th, I will get a great view of the fireworks shot off from the bank of a nearby river!

I am excited about clearing out my one bedroom batchelorette pad and nexting in my much larger apartment.

I hope you all are having similar regular life experiences!

Ask a Question
Wedding Band Purchase Drama!!!
What would you do if this was your problem:

Last Sunday, I went to Helzberg Diamond to take my FH's wedding band off layaway. I paid it off and it is worth slightly below $1k (I don't know if that matters). I asked if my FH, who was with me at the time, needed to be sized for the ring. The sales lady had to think about it before saying yes. It turned out the ring would need to be special ordered because he is a 12. The problem was that it would take 4 to 8 weeks to get the ring back and the wedding was in 6 weeks. That is cutting it Extremely close. What would you do???

Comments:
1. When I first put the ring on layaway, I asked if they needed my FH's ring size and I was told no. They do not need it until they actually order the ring and the ring has been paid off.
2. FH suggested that the store loan us a ring if the ring does not come in on time. The store manager brushes the suggestion off and said she would prefer to look for other alternatives, but would offer no suggestions. The value of a loan ring would be nothing compared to what has been paid for our ring. Even if we did not return the loaner, they would make a huge profit. Why not take us up on this suggestion.
3. Manager said that she would call us the next day to let us know how soon the manufacturer can get the ring to us. There was no word from her and FH has been contacting them every other day for status updates, but no change and no short term solutions offered.

Please tell me what you think and if I missed something obvious that I should have known to do. Thanks!!!

Wedding Dress
1st Fitting and I'm Excited!!!
I got to see my wedding gown for the first time today. I tried it on, got it fitted and paid it off. I will have traditional bustling and tulle cap sleeves added.

This is my dream gown!!! I cannot wait to wear it! I'm not going to lie, I thought that I was not going to like it. I have only seen it and tried it on as ivory over gold and lived it. I purchased white. It is beautiful in white. I also thought that sleeves would ruine the dress, but it actually enhanced and complimented it. The way the seamstress added the sleeves, it looks like a wrap. I am so excited to wear it!

My shoes were perfect with dress. My full petticoat made it even more beautiful. My jewlery and veil choices are perfect. I am so happy...can you tell?

I hope that you all feel the way about your dress as I feel about mine. I would not trade it for another!

Wedding Website
Mine is done...Are you doing one???
Putting a website together is hard work. Plus all of the data is in flux. Things change all the time with wedding planning. Nevertheless, mine is done. I am not sure how I will share it with my wedding guests. I guess that I can email the link, and forward through facebook.

We left out the registry details. I do not like doing anything that my come off as being tacky.

Are you putting one together? How have you been sharing it? What did you add that did not seem common or what did you leave out?

p.s. the photo is not of me and fh. I am just using that as a sample and I did it through theknot.

Wedding Gift Registry
All Registries Were NOT Created Equally
The registry is complete despite bridesmaids issues and a spiralling guest list!!! I need something good accomplished! I still have invitations to address and mail! So much to do and time is winding up!

We registered today at three stores (JC Penny, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target).

*JC Penny was good.
*Bed Bath and Beyond had everything that JC Penny had and more. We did our China pattern here. We could have skipped JC Penny altogether.
*Target was not so good. The guns did not work well and when we tried to look at what we registered for, a lot of the items did not have pictures and the descriptions for many of those did not make any sense (I couldn't figure out what we registed for)

I wish we just did Bed Bath and Beyond, but this will be fine. At least people will have options.

Enjoy creating your own registries, and please share your own experiences!

Wedding Rehearsal
Who Does this? Well mine is booked!
Today I booked our rehearsal dinner location. It is near the church where we will be rehearsing. I want to make sure everyone know what they will be doing during the ceremony and during the large reception.

It should be fun for everyone to have a nice dinner together before the big event.

I found our ceremony musicians and they were suprised that I needed them for the rehearsal. I am wondering if people rehearse anymore. I want the musicians to know where they will be seated and get them everything they need in terms of sound help, lighting, etc. I do not want to chance it.

Plus my FH's family is not familiar with my family and this will provide an opportunity for them to get a little more familiar with eachother.

Wedding Reception
Private Dinner after Large Reception
I booked my Dinner location for after the wedding, reception, and pictures.

This is for the meal, dancing, relaxing and ...Being Myself in my lovely dress with my lovely FH!!!

This will start of the romantic part of the night with 40 or fewer guests. The wedding guest list is about 250. This will definately be the time to wind down.

I'm so happy that things are coming together!
