I know alot of folks who just got licences and went to the court house. Now that's a cheap wedding.
I don't plan on having a very large extravagant wedding, for all truth I can't afford one, not that it wouldn't just be fantastic!
I don't plan on debt for my wedding. I have two kids to worry about...
Our budget is about 5,000. That includes everything ladies but the honeymoon which my fiance' still has to persuade me to do, since I am deathly afraid of flying.
We haven't agreed on using a DJ yet as I want a cheap one, and I don't want all the fancy packages. I just want someone to try to get the crowd going and play our selected music tastes...
Our rental for the Reception Hall is 200. Yep, I know ladies are spending well into the thousands for a deposit on a Reception Hall...but the country is good for deals. They focus on community.
Of course the venue is what you pay for. It's a roof over our heads, but it does have a kitchen and a hardwood floor.
This one is particularly old, being well into it's 100years.
Again, I'm not picky. I'm going to spruce it up...with color and decoration's. It def won't be a banquet hall with it's satin and silks and chandeliers but it'll be my wedding. And I really like tradition and old school. This will kind of be like my mother and my mothers mothers wedding.
The linens are white so a table runner in orange or silver will be bought offline...
dishes are white, so napikins will have color...
and the chairs...oh god. I hate teh chairs, just those ugly grey plastic backed chairs.
But...I plan on using tulle in my color with a flower atatched at the back, so the ugly back of the chairs will be covered and look lovely...it'll be cheaper than the chaircovers which I won't rent! And I have a list of 33 odd kids coming. They'll destroy white chair covers! So orange tulle is the way I'm goign to go.
I can't wait to get them done and put up photos.
I can't wait to see how everything turns out!!! Good Luck
I wish I could pull of something for 5K in the area i live in. Around here even the VFW for a saturady night is $1000 and you still need food
Either way with a little DIY and bargaining you can find great deals and make an amazing event out of 5k. I've learned so much about stretching the dollar from the ladies on here. Like try craigslist for the DJ and other vendors
So good luck and enjoy your planning
Congrats! Can't wait to see how it all turns out. Happy Planning!
Have you tried dollartree.com? everything on that site is 1.00 you can find some great vases or anything practical for the archway. Seriously worth checking out. i.e colouring crayons for kids? that kind of thing.
You have some awseome creativity so anything is possible. Even tho you wont have satins and silks I still think you can work magic.
check out this wedding blog. This girl is a DIY queen! (you need to check out her posts from the beginning. atm shes decorating her house so thats her recent post as her wedding was awhile back)
