What kind of venue do you have and how big is your wedding?
So because of budget concerns and a huge guest list, we have a few options for our wedding. We could have a very intimate (65-100 max) people which includes only close family and friends in a formal or informal setting, or we could go all out and have everyone and spend alot more money. Our venue options range from formal chandelier clad halls, several wineries (we're both from Niagara and Pelee region), and a few barn type venues that are also super cute.

What type of venue and wedding are you ladies having? Big and formal hall? Small and vintage barn? Those of you having destination weddings, where are you having them? Thanks ladies!

Ours is at a wedding banquet hall type of place.  We will probably have 140 people, hopefully no more than that.

My venue is an old English Manor built in the 20's.  It holds a tight 150. I'm hoping for only 125-130.

Hey........we are having a destination wedding in Cancun there are about 50 going at the moment (number keeps bloody changing!) getting married in a gazebo with red carpet (so excited have a look at pics on my blog) and then having a beach reception woo-woo! And those people who say destination weddings are less hassle they are LIARS haha ; )

Ours is at a quaint Italian restaurant 20 minutes from the ceremony. It is a semi-formal place that will hold all of our 125 guests.

Wedding at our church and reception at an old house that has an atrium on the back for the actual reception.  There will hopefully be about 150 people there.

Both our ceremony and reception are taking place at my parents big and beautiful acreage.  For the reception we rented a HUGE tent... we are expecting a little over 300 guests.

Ours will be held at a hotel ballroom - we're expecting nearly 400 guests.

I would suggest a wedding in size in which you can do it right.  Nice venue, decor, food and yes open bar.  Often people sacrifice all the things that make a wedding special so they can have more people.  Why not fewer (closer) people and have a celebration to remember.

We are trying to keep the list small 75- 90 people we are having the ceremony and reception at lange farm. getting married in front of a giant oak and the reception will be held in the garden house
