Wedding Decoration
Aisle Decoration
Well since we changed our venue, I am excited to decorate the aisle now since the ceremony will take place indoors. I am still going for dark romantic theme. So I think candles would fit in perfectly! I love love love the curly willow around the candles. I am not much of a flower girl and I really want to keep the floral budget to a minimum, so I think candles will be great. And as soon as the ceremony is over, we can use the vases with the candles for centerpieces. Double whammy! :)
Let me know what you girls think. Thank you. p.s. I would spray paint the curly willow BLACK. So it would add a little more drama! And thank you for all the votes, you girls are sure helping me out. |

Venue
I am torn between two venues
So I posted before that I was going to use the red barn for my venue for sure. But this past weekend my mom and I went to a bridal fair and realized there is a brand new event center that is gorgeous. So today we went and looked at it. It has more of a Tuscan/rustic theme to the inside and was actually a restaurant that they turned into an event center. It has a marble two-sided fireplace, slate floors, dark wood. Just very elegant and pretty. AND the price of the venue includes a lot, oh and I she said I can bring in a little fire pit and still do a s'mores bar. NICE...
4 Round 5' Tables 6 Cocktail Tables 8 Booth Tables 4 Square Tables 16 Rectangular Tables 100 Hardwood Chairs (That are Gorgeous) 30 High back Bar Chairs 3 High Chairs 1 Booster Seat 8 Wrought Iron Patio Tables 32 Patio Chairs They have a FULL kitchen that a licensed caterer can cook in and if you don't have a licensed caterer you can bring the food in and just serve it. They have refrigerators, sinks, and microwaves. And an ice machine ( that will prevent anyone from having to go run to a gas station and buy ice) And then she has several other items for rent. Like all the serving dishes, easels, frames, cake stands, buffet servers, chair sashes, candle holders, EVERYTHING. Oh and they customize the front window with my new last name, McKenna and then on the next set of doors into the building she customizes it and puts our first names. :) I like that little detail. or I can stick with the red barn that includes like 5 old wood picnic tables and some garbage cans. I would have to spray for flies, get all the decorations, rent tables, chairs, linens, serving dishes, candle holders, EVERYTHING. The only plus of the barn is the trees and charm. I like the trees and the new event center doesn't really have any but it looks over a lake. Soooo, this is where I am supposed to decide what I am going to do. But I'm so confused. I need everyone's help. What should I do? |

Music for Dancing
This is the father/daughter dance. I picked it out and my dad better like it! LOL. Im sure he will.
This is the mother and son dance! I talked to my FH's mom over Christmas and I told her I had a song picked out but my FH told me that she didn't even like it, so I asked her and she said she likes it and it reminds her of my FH. Thanks Future MIL! |

Ideas for the ceremony
Hand Ceremony
I found this on ashleyw44's WBC blog
I Really LOVE this idea of having a hand ceremony, just reading this made me tear up! Just thinking about my FH! I can't wait. Let me know what you think. Here are some examples: I think I like the shorter version. Or use parts from each to create my own. Kylee, please face Michael, and hold his hands, palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life. These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams. These are the hands that look so large and strong, yet will be so gentle as he holds your child for the first time. These are the hands that will work long hours for you and your new family. These are that hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief overwhelm you. These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes: eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you. Michael, please hold Kylee's hands, palms up, where you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to love you all the days of her life. These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging them along the way, and knowing when it is time to let go. These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving. They are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness. These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized. Bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in grace, rich in caring, and devoted to reaching for perfection. May Joseph and Nancy see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty or fear assail your relationship - as they threatened all relationships at one time or another - remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part that seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the times when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives - remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your lives together, your life together will be marked by abundance and delight. Inasmuch as you have consented together in this ceremony to live in wedlock and have sealed your vows in the presence of this company and by the giving of these rings, it gives me great pleasure to pronounce that you are Husband and Wife. Congratulations, you may kiss the bride! Or you can do something like this which has the couple look at eachother's hands at the same time and so it's a little shorter and less repetitive: As an expression that your hearts are joined together in love - will you please face each other and hold hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to one another. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch. What do you think? I LOVE IT! |

Bridesmaids
Dress I Love!
I was looking at youtube videos for wedding entrances. And one of the video's I watched the girl had these dresses on her bridesmaids in black with pink shoes(mine would be black with eggplant colored shoes). They looked AMAZING! I am determined to get these for my girls now. I love them!
What do you all think? And I am honestly leaning towards all black bridesmaid dresses! |

Guest List
How Many People Are You Inviting?
So far our guest list is around 240. Not too big, but still getting up there for my likings. I was just wondering what is a good way to estimate how many people will show up? I know it will be a ball park figure. I have heard so many different ways to estimate this number. Like 1/2 of my guest list will show up or take 1/3 of your guest list and double it or 2/3's of your guest list will show up? I just have no Idea. Please let me know what worked best for you.
And I guess the only REAL way to know is when people start responding to the RSVP. |
