I'M BACK!!! with presents too (sorta)
Hello ladies....
I have been gone for what seems like FOREVER. Things have been crazy for us. In the midst of the craziness trying to pass for my life, we changed our wedding......date, location, time, colors.....So, I am pretty much starting all over....sigh On to the present....I had the chance to frequent my local hobby lobby and walmart and I have some great finds. I wanted to share pics with you ladies because alot of the stuff was SUPER cheap, and i was thinking if someone saw something they are unable to get their hands, I could attempt to get it locally and ship it to them. Most of everything on here had quite a bit in stock. #1 these napkins are from hobby lobby. they come 50 per pack @ 4.99 each. #2 is the little box I think I am going to use for my card box topper, i know it's not damask but it can be covered and it's cute. 4.50 @ HL #3 Is a damask hatbox. This one was 9 inches wide and only 4.99 @ HL. They had a ton of different size, most expensive was 9.99 #4 a pic of the inside of the hatbox #5 is a damask board. Its made out of fabric and about 2x2 ft. It is 8 bucks at HL #6 is a damask picture frame with the word family on it. 12.00 @ HL #7 is chandelier votive holders 1.99 for small 3.99 for the big @ HL #8 these are damask gift sacks. they are more of a silver color then white. 10 in a pack @ 1.99 HL #9 closer print of the giftbags #10 these are damask rub-ons by Simply Plaid. They 3.49 at Walmart #11 a close up of the rub-ons #12 damask ribbon by offray. Its classified as ivory not white, so it is not a bright white, not a huge contrast. 2.99 at walmart |

Ask a Question
NWR: What are your other hobbies?
I am pretty new to the site and I know that we have some other newbies along with our wonderful wedding planning pros on here. I wanted an easy way to share something about ourselves with the other brides.
In an email with bride Nevaeh, we both shared that we quilt. I know that wedding planning consumes allour time but I was wondering what does everyone else do outside of the wedding? I just started quilting last year, I have attached photos of my work in progress. |

Ask a Question
to tattoo....or not?
Sooooo....I have a some tattoos....(Okay I have 7 tattoos lol) and in my wedding dresses you can see the one on my back and the one on the inside of my wrist. In the ceremony dress you can only see a couple of my stars, but in the reception dress you can see most of them. Now i love my tattoos and so does the mister but mom isn't so fond of them, She feels that I should cover the visible ones on the wedding day. My opinion is that the tattoos are a part of me, part of my charm if you say and I really dont think that anyone is going to notice them, plus if they are invited to my wedding they already know i have them.
So what do you ladies think? If you have a tattoo are you covering it? The first pic is a picture of me in my ceremony dress. The second pic is of my stars. This is a link to my reception dress, I cant get my pictures to upload for some reason. http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?line=m&pageSize=96&page=1&style=A3240 Opinions?? happy planning. =) |

my invites....
so my lovely ladies....i think I have decided on the final invite.
I think the wording is a little too small and the wording portion isn't on the metallic cardstock but I got tired of printing lol. Granted this is just a mock up but I want some opinions so let me hear'em! Picture 1 is my envelope. It will be black metallic with the damask liner Picture 2 is the outside of the gatefold invitation Picture 3 is the inside. Happy planning!! |

Damask Cardstock
I have been searching the web for the ever elusive damask cardstock and I think I finally found some!
It's by Andrea Victoria and I purchased it off of the below website: http://www.acherryontop.com/search/damask/110946 It was a little bit pricey but I am hoping that I can work my magic with it for the invites and other ideas I have. I will be sure to keep you updated as to when I recieve it and if it was worth the money. I sure do hope so. happy planning lovelies |

Ask a Question
Wedding overload.....
i am officially lost. I have prided myself about having such a clear idea of what I want AND what I can afford for my BIG day.....I have spent hours and hours pouring over websites, DIY blogs, magazine, bridal shows and now......I'm lost. I have no idea where to start, what I want or what I can do. With so many DIY options out there I now have so many more options available to me. and I'm drowning in wedding ideas. My parents and friends are about to the limit with frantic phone calls beginning with " what do you think about....?" My idea book has now turned into a box....and I am frustrated.
So I beg of you lovely ladies....where did you start? Any ideas for this overwhelmed bride to be |

Wedding Reception
slow dancin'.....
there seems to be a lot of drama around wedding planning, and it is SOOOO easy to lose sight of what matters. Bride Nevaeh posted a question regarding what the first dance song would be. We are dancing to Tangled up in you by Staind.....I answered her post and I was listening to 'our' song as I did and it made me remember what all this is supposed to be about. I have an amazing man, and he thinks I am just as great too. That is what all this is about. Although I have had a pretty great time so far looking at stuff, I can already tell I am getting stressed and I have another year to go. So i think my 'rule' will be whenever I think I am getting overwhelmed I will listen to 'our song, and remember why I am doing this.
I have added the song for listening pleasure to anyone who reads this.... to all the lovely brides out there, take a moment, breathe, kiss your man....and then go back to scouring the website. happy planning ladies. |

DIY invite assistance
I am attempting to do my own invitations. I have been playing with paper and ribbons for weeks now, but I think I am down to my two favorites. They are very similar, one is just a panel invite and the other is a gatefold. I also attempted to do the envelope liners myself as well (the ones that I really liked were going to cost me 80 bucks and they didnt match the damask pattern I have). I have attached pictures of both invites and the envelope with the liner and would LOVE some opinions, ideas, tips etc. Please use your imagination when looking. On the gatefold invitation I didnt have the correct color green to use as the tag on the front so I colored a post-it just to get the idea. The tag will have our monogram on it and match the favor tags and napkins at the reception.
Also, for anyone who has done their own printing, I need some help. I have a really good Lexmark all in one ink-jet printer. I have printed on some of my sample cardstock and it works but it seems a little too light. Does any have any suggestions about settings or weight of paper that they have used? What software did you use for your wording/graphics? Any suggestions at all would help?!?! |
