Our Unity Candle
Another super easy DIY project. I bought the candles for half price at hobby lobby so I think total they cost between $5-$7. For the decoration on the candles I created the design I wanted on Microsoft Publisher. It has our damask print at the top and bottom, our names, a photo of us, our wedding date and a saying, "Two lives, two heats joined together in Friendship united in Love" I then printed the document on a sheet of vellum (the kind of see through paper you can find at a craft store or scrap booking place). To attach the paper to the candle I used a hole puncher and made a few holes on the sides of the paper and ran a wired ribbon through it (like you would a shoe lace) and tied a bow. I really like them I think they came out really well. I just need to put a dot of hot glue on each corner of the paper so the edges do not left up.

Toasting Flutes
So I just got done making my toasting flutes. They cost under $5 to do both! I purchased the glasses at Old Time Pottery for 99 cents each and the rub on transfers for around $3. I found the damask rub-ons at wal-mart and at Hobby Lobby I found a clearance rub-on that just ha a bunch of words of it. I think it cost a whole buck. Anyway, all I did was cut out the damask design, tape it on my glass and rub away! I also put Mr and Mrs on the bottom of our glasses. I had to cut out each individual letter since the transfer sheet I bought was really just a bunch of letters. But all and all it was so easy.

So Excited about my Makeup!
I am not very good at the whole makeup thing. I don't really wear it and every time I have some type of photo shoot I usually have my little sister do my makeup. She did my makeup for the bridal shoot and it came out good but I wanted it to be a little more natural. God must be listening to me because today my dad's girlfriend said she had one of my gifts ready. She hired the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader's makeup artist for my wedding!!!!! I guess this girl is amazing (she even has her own cosmetic line!) I am meeting with her next week to do a trial run. I can not wait.

Bachelorette Party planning time!
GOLF Theme
I just got off the phone with one of my bridesmaids who has been so wonderful with planning all my parties. We planned my bachelorette party today. We are going to have a golf theme! I'm not really a big golf fan but I do love the movie The Wedding Date and they had a golf theme party. I sent everyone an invitation that said:

"G.O.L.F. Bachelorette Party--Girls Only, Lads Forbidden"

Everyone also has to wear golf apparel or argyle for the event. We are going bar hopping downtown and have a great game planned out. (Game credit goes to a website I found: http://thepreppywedding.blogspot.com/2007/05/golf-themed-bachelorette.html)

We are telling everyone that the whole evening is a giant round of golf. Each person gets a score card that shows each "hole" or bar we are going to. At each bar, guests are scored on how many drinks they have. Whoever gets the highest score gets a special trophy that they get to carry around to the next bar.

Each person will also get a "fun card" to use at any point in the evening. These fun cards have different tasks for the bachelorette to complete at each hole.

I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

My Card Box
So like most people, I'm sure, I feel in love with a card box that I found online that cost $125!!!! Or some out there cost. So I decided to go ahead and make my own version of the thing! Here are the supplies I used:
* damask printed photo box at Joanns for $4
*two show boxes that I found at home (free!) which I then covered in black contact paper (the stuff that has a sticky back that you use as shelf lining). It had this cool texture like an alligator. (it was free too! We used it as a boarder for my brother's room at some point)
*I had some red think ribbon at the house that I used for the bow
*Diamond ring paper weight that I got at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off so it was only $5
*and the D was a dollar keychain I found at Michaels
So I sent a total of 10 bucks on my card box!!! Much cheaper than the one that was over a hundred!

Wedding Photography
Changed Photographer!!!
Okay so I know this was probably a pretty mean thing to do but I feel so much better. At my bridal shoot the photographer told me that she was now open for my wedding date if something fell through last minute with my photographer. I was so super excited Rachel was free on my wedding day! She is a friend of the family, took all of my sister's high school senior photos and (i think) is a little better photographer than the person I booked. So I called up my photographer for the wedding and told her that we had someone else. I was nice and did send her a deposit/cancellation fee.

Having this new photographer def. has brightened my day and spirits about the wedding.

Bridal shoot!!!
So the original person that I asked to be our photographer told me that she could not shot the wedding due to a prior wedding she had booked so as a wedding gift she did a bridal shoot for me a few weeks ago. The photos should be coming back any day now and I am so excited. We went to a place called Unity Village in Lee's Summit, MO. It is so pretty. I had driven past the place before but never in it. There are all kinds of plants, pretty door ways, and fountains. I just can not wait to see how they came out.

After the shoot I came home and put my son in his tux and took a few photos with him in back yard. They are not great since it was just my sister and a friend who were taking the photos but it was good practice for my little guy.

So Little Time & So Much To Do!!
I think I might go crazy
I have been so busy lately!!!!! Anything and everything has been going on, plus now my allergies are here in full force, FH is sick, dad is sick, son has the same allergy problem and I have A TON of projects.

With just a little over two weeks until the wedding I think I am going to lose it! I told my FH yesterday I was done. I was just sick of working on wedding stuff, sick of doing something one way then people telling me I should have done it another way.

It seems like I spend half of my day on the phone arguing with people about something I ordered for the wedding or leaving voice mails with people because they won't get back to me!!! I hate it.

My FH keeps telling me if I don't get something done not to worry about it. People will never know if we are missing some kind of decoration. There has been a little up side to things....

We took my sister to college last weekend so that is one less person in the house to distract me from working on wedding stuff. So now that I have my office/craft room back (it was like my sister's second closet...so she thought) I have cleaned it all out and have plenty of space to work til I drop!

Think positive.....There is light at the end of the tunnel!

I NEED HELP

Ask a Question
How much is everyone spending on flowers???
Please brides...I need some advice. I really do not have a budget for the wedding (good old dad basically says find the best price and we will go with it) so I do not know how much to spend on my ceremony flowers!!! Here is what I want:
*One Bride's bouquet
*Six bridesmaid's bouquets
*Eleven single flower boutonnieres
*Five corsages (for mothers and grandmothers)

I keep thinking I will just buy fake flowers and make all of this myself...however I never really knew just how expenses fake flowers are!!! I thought real was bad...so is fake. Anyway, my next thought was to do something alternative and I have been falling in love with fabric flowers. I found someone to do them on Etsy and told them everything I wanted and they quoted me with it costing $460.50 plus s&h. I am thinking this is a lot put I really have no idea what people are paying for this type of stuff....so I thought I would ask:

Is The Price Right????

Or should I just grin and bear it and try to make all those fabric flowers myself?

Ring Bearer Bib
I just can't stop adding new posts today!!!!
So at our reception we decided not to have a head table because almost all of our wedding party is married, has kids, etc. and we know they would much rather sit with their family than be stuck at a long table with us. So we decided to just keep a few tables reserved for the wedding party and do a sweetheart table for us. We also wanted to have our son with us at the sweetheart table. Long story short I found this cute and fun bib that our son can wear at the reception while he eats (he will only be 11 months...and is a pig!!) The ebay seller is: coolbeans717. The bib is only $8.95 with free shipping. I just thought it was too cute to pass up!

Our wedding is going to be done in the ever popular Damask theme. We are using black and white as our main colors and then since the ceremony site is mainly red we are using accents of red as well
