I decided to start my hair trials early, so glad I did!
I booked an appointment for me, my maid of honour and the mothers for them morning of the wedding and went for my hair trial last week.
The place I picked out came recommended and had a great portfolio.
When I booked the appointment I told them I wanted it down in curls with just a bit pulled back over the crown to clip my veil in.
When I got there they had only given 15 minutes!
I have hair down to my mid back, and they were told this.
The stylist got really rude and told me I should have said I wanted it actually done, as she was only planning on 'looking' at it.
I don't cause scenes, I'm too shy, but I had driven over an hour and taken the whole afternoon off work to go there, so I did make it clear I wasn't too impressed.
The manager was called, she came out and looked at the book. Said she was the one who booked the trial and that I told her I had short hair! Then she went on to say that a trial isn't really a full appointment, just so they can get some ideas, but I had told her I didn't mind paying extra and I wanted it done as if it were the wedding.
Finally they sat me down and started curling, she almost refused to use hairspray and wouldn't talk to me.
As I left I told them to take us off the book for the wedding day, and they tried to tell me I was committed and had to pay at least 50% for canceling at the last minute.
I asked how almost 100 days before was last minute.
They had my wedding date down for the beginning of June!
I booked in for another place just down the street, went in for the trial all worried.
The girl was wonderful! The did exactly what I wanted, it stayed all day and they were sweet and relaxing.
(my veil is the one picutred, but she made it shorter so it doesn't cover my whole face)
Last march we got married just infront of a judge. It was a really simple thing. But I wanted to look stunning. I made an appointment in a really good salon and I told them it was for my wedding and asked makeup and hair done. When I arrived that morning they where not even open the girl that was supposed to do my hair was late, they had me waiting for an hr and still I wasnt been help I really got upset at this point and asked for the manager they passed me with another person fast, my hair and makeup where nothing like I wanted I was crying and ended up been late to my own wedding.
Yup trials are the way to go.... I'm glad you got someone to do the things the way you want them in the end.
