Happy New Years Ladies! 2013 is here and I will be in Maui Hawaii next year for our 15th Anni...
"Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe."
Something old is an article from a female family member, it shows continuity in the bride's family.
Something new symbolizes hope for the bride's future.
Something borrowed is supposed to come from a happily married lady, and is said to bring some of her good luck to the new bride.
Something blue goes back to Roman times and symbolizes purity.
The sixpence is supposed to bring financial security.
My something old is a cameo necklace that was given to my great grandmother about 110 years ago, and has been worn by the ladies in our family when they get married.
Something new will be my dress.
My something borrowed it probably going to be a rice pearl bracelet from my mom.
I dyed my crinoline blue and ordered a sixpence from eBay.
I just read jsfuturewife's blog about her something old and it got me wondering.
Are you being a traditional bride and wearing these articles? If so, what are you using?
