Ask a Question
Groom

If you've read my post below, then I'm interested - what is your guy doing for your wedding? What jobs has he taken on (you forced on him)? What about the day has his stamp on it?

I know that D is having a hard time getting involved in the planning because:
-I'm a wedding planner, so this is "my" thing.
-I'm really bossy.
-I work a desk job where the occasional internet search is not out of the ordinary, D works outside.
-He claims "I've never done this before, I don't know where to start."

I really want a groom who is involved. It would be dreamy to have someone as interested as I am about our boxed sand invites. The reality is, I am marrying D who doesn't really care. *laughs* I'm trying to figure out how to get him excited and involved. Any ideas?

My Husband was in charge of the guys outfits, getting the marriage licence and all the paperwork in order, pick the boutineers for the guys, booking all travel,

I got him to do guy things and did not even ask about decor, etc because I know he doesn't care at all. Plus same story...I'm an event planner so I know what I'm doing.

He picked out the type of suit he'd wear... and is helping choose the menu... but that's about it.  In some ways, that kind of bothers me because I think he doesn't care about one of the biggest days of our lives, but on the other hand... we REALLY disagree when I do ask for his advice/opinion, so maybe that's a blessing in disguise??

My FH is somewhat involved.  He wants to see/know what everything will look like before we order/book anyone.  He is the reason why we have the photographer we do.  He went to the meeting, and was like we are booking her.  He is VERY involved in the food, alcohol, and music of course.  Like a man would be ;-)

What are his interests?  Is he a music snob?  Have him create a preliminary list of music for the dance.  Does he like cigars?  Include them as favors for your guests, and have him head it up.  Is he a map guy?  Put him in charge of the map for your guests.  (Weddingmapper.com is a great site for this.)

...You get the idea...put him in charge of things he's actually interested in.  Then he'll be sure to follow-through, and feel like he's involved.
