A checklist said to registry now!!

So we still have 8 months till our wedding although the Knot is saying now is the time to registry. Am I wrong to think its too early to register. I would be afrid that things would be discontinued or no longer in the store. So when is the right time to register?? I wish I had a better checklist of when to do things - - - I don't want to be a last minute bride!

Our wedding is in May and we starte registering back in October, which is about 8 months.  We got through about half of it and will need to finish by March 1, which is when we plan to send out the invites.  I will say that it's fun, but it's a big time commitment.  Look at my posts about preparing for registering.

Our wedding is in May (Destination) and our Reception is in June and we're going to go register this weekend, I figure we didn't need to register since we didn't send out shower or wedding invites yet =D
