Wedding Reception
EVENTS OF THIS WEEKEND:
We started out Friday (Matthew and I) with our google maps and the best of intentions. We got lost only twice due to my lack of being able to read maps hehe. Luckily Matt just whipped the car around to take us in the right direction!

We got to the Museum of Civilization, and it was beautiful! The room that we love has a view of the river and Parliament!! as well as a Terrace to have the ceremony on and a huge staircase to walk down for the ceremony. The best part was that it wasn't even the most expensive room! The least expensive only held 75 people so we had to veto it right away. I was sold when I saw the staircase and view. What sold Matthew you ask? Well the coordinator printed out a possible seating plan, with where everything would go and he could than visualise it. (he has the HARDEST time visualising things)

So we are pretty sure we have found our one but we still have the next appointment at the Museum of Nature. So we try to follow the map to the next location, but half the streets downtown don't have street signs which is mildly FRUSTRATING hehe. So we make it to the museum with about 30 mins to spare. So my downtown lunch you ask? Vending machine sandwiches and a shared diet coke because the machine was empty, hehehe. O well, it was all we had time for after trying to find the place.

The museum of Nature is a construction zone right now, so its pretty hard to visualise how everything is going to look admittedly, but Matt said he just could see the wedding there. ( the only cool part was that they would open up a exhibit during your wedding and they have a underwater room with a full whale skeleton!!) While we were getting our construction boots on and our hard hats and then waiting for the rest of the group to do so as well, didn't Matthew lean his WHOLE back on the wall. He was covered in drywall dust, then after the nice lady said please follow closely and watch where you put you feet, didn't he wander off a bit and hit his toe making a huge bang? I cant take this guy anywhere hehehe.

We had a blast though! Then on Sunday Seanna, AJ, Robin, my Mom and Dad and I all headed out for breakfast before we went to the Bridal show!!

The bridal show was INSANE I did find a great bakery though they do cupcake towers and they taste SO good. They have 40 different flavours to choose from! One is called Cafe a Lai!! YUM!! They also had dresses (which I was bulled into trying on, they were SO UGLY) They also had balloon workers which had made giant palm trees they were pretty much the epitome of tacky. It was a lot of fun, but there vending machine was also low on drinks, so we left before the fashion show to find water and cooler air, it was HOT in that place. (Also on the way in they had live doves I have never been more grossed out going into a place, who wants that at their wedding, EW)

Wow, this was a pretty long post,
ENJOY!!

With the Stephanie James dress so far out of reach I have been looking for a different direction, I love this dress and better yet I think it will flatterer my figure much better. This dress will work more with my curves and the price is to die for!!

I emailed it to my grandma so she can check it out first (she is the best sewer I have ever met and my mom and her made me the most beautiful dresses when I was a kid) but I think this is the one!! :D

Some new ideas!
I found a money tree, and it hit me how enchanted forest would it be to have money trees for center pieces?! I’m thinking maybe the money tree with sea stones around the base, with some tea lights!

I was also thinking it would be kind of cool to have those wind-up butterflies in the napkins on the tables. It would be a fun surprise! I'm having a hard time finding them though :(

For favours I was thinking mini caramel apples on top of my ultimate ginger cookies wrapped in cellophane with a tag in the shape of a leaf that says love the bride and groom! It’s a fall wedding so I think it fits with the season.

Matt and I were also thinking with the invitations and on the place cards and maybe a few other places to have a tree that somehow looks like a G for Gambino. Matt found a picture online and paint shopped it up so we had a idea of how it could work. I’m hoping to figure out away to do this, maybe stickers but that could look tacky. I love the idea I’m just not sure of the reality.

Wedding Dress
I found my perfect dress!!
Only problem is it’s so far out of my price range that it’s a impossible dream. It’s perfect and SO me I love it! I would want the bow to be green and the crinoline to be green as well, sigh LOVE.

I'm not really sure what to do I’m thinking I will look for similar dress at a lower cost, maybe a dress maker?

Center Peices?
I was shopping for ideas on what to do for a center piece!

I'm not sure really what I want, you see I am concerned that if I use candles a fire will ensue. My family is what some would call a bit rowdy, or personalities that are too big for their bodies. I always like that one, the big personality one, makes us sound like small people though. Not so true.

I am thinking I like the hurricane lamp with the leaves up the sides the best, but I am not sure. Thank goodness I have so much time, both a blessing and a curse heh.

The Proposal
written by Matthew for our wedding site
Allow me to paint you a mental picture.

It all started with me looking online for the perfect ring to present to my lovely bride-to-be. However... she wanted to see said ring before I made the purchase. Lo and behold, the ring wasn't enough for her as she wanted to put her own stamp on it. So, the next day we went to the jeweller's to look at some rings and to find her size. This was when I found the perfect little gem of a ring. She loved it, I loved the price and so I bought it then and there.

As for the proposal, I decided to come up to see my lovely lady in July for a week or so, planning to pop the big ol' question to her while still keeping it somewhat stealth. I decided to make my plans and do the prep work while she was at work. I gathered up an amazing bouquet of flowers, readied a nice little word puzzle that she had been so ridiculously psyched about and decided I would take her out for dinner and then set her up with the puzzle that would lead her to the basement where I would recite my speech to her. At this time she would swoon and say yes.

UNFORTUNATELY... it didn't go quite as planned. We were hurried through dinner as the restaurant was closing, so we had to munch and crunch pretty quickly. When we got home, I gave her the word puzzle and booked it into the basement to get into the outfit I was wearing when I first met her. Five minutes later she came into the basement and said "I don't get it!" I should have expected a word puzzle was too much for my lovely lady to take, heh. As I tried to lay my speech on her, she was bouncing around so much that I was unable to get the speech out. Then I said "Oh well," dropped to one knee and proposed which was met with an emphatic YES!

Thankfully, I was able to tell her the whole speech later that evening when she was calm. All in all, the only thing that went as planned was her saying yes.. luckily, that was the only important part.
