Wedding Gift Registry
What do I register for???
SO I am in the process of registering at Target and Crate and Barrel and have NO idea what I am doing! I thought this would be one of the best parts, shopping!! But instead it's been kinda stressful trying to figure out what to register for and all.
As of now, I am registering for: dinnerware, flatware, serving pieces, glasses, bath towels and accessories, and a dyson. Am I missing anything? I don't want to just add things on the list because people are spending money and I want to like and use everything I receive. Any suggestions? |

Wedding Dress
I found the ONE!
First of all, it's been WAY too long since I've added a post to my blog, sorry! It's been such a busy 2010 thus far and I can't believe I have less than 200 days until the big day, holy crap!
Anywho, here is a photo of the dress I am going to get!!! I went to David's Bridal with 14 of my favorite ladies!! That included my 9 bridesmaids, 2 Jr. bridesmaids, flower girl, Mom and Step-Mom! It was the perfect day and I felt so special : ) Well I tried on 10 dresses in total while at David's and this dress was my number 10!! As I was trying them on I kept wondering when I would get "that" feeling. I mean, I liked a few, but still wasn't certain. UNTIL, I tried on my lucky dress number 10! As soon as I walked out, everyone cried and I just knew this was the one! |

How do you handle the guest list?
Well I am finally to the point where I am starting to firm up the guest list, since we'll be sending out STD in January. I am a little stressed, as the list is already up to 160 people and I wanted a "small" wedding : ) Not to mention, I've taken a lot of friends and co-workers off the list, to bring it down.
The issue is I'm from a large family, one of seven, my Dad is one of fourteen, so I have lots of Aunts and Uncles! I've decided to not invite many cousins, which has helped, but still have so much family! I'm pretty happy with the list I have including the 160 guests, with the idea that I'll add others if I get "No' responses. Is that mean? Another question, I have friends upset that I am not inviting friend's of theirs, but aquaintancesof mine. Is that normal? How do you handle that? Thankfully both sets of parents have been so laid back about the guest list and haven't had any major requests, whew! One less thing to worry about : ) |

Paper Lanterns
I've decided that in addition to white lights, we'll be putting up paper lanterns in the Veranda, with different shades of pink!! This will be in place for both the ceremony and reception. Attached is also a picture of a previous wedding at the Currituck Club, which is where I got the idea : )

Place card holder
We're going to purchase the shell pictured to hold each escort/place card for the reception. You can't tell in the picture, but the inside of the shell is pink, so it matches perfect!
In addition to have the shell as a escort/place card holder, we're also going to tie ribbon around each to make it an ornament and have them as a favor in addition to the candy bar! |

So thankful!
I just wanted to say that in the "spirit" of Thanksgiving, I am so thankful to have started this blog!! In the short time since I've started, I've received so many great ideas and words of encouragement! This blog really is for all of the brides to discuss any and everything and I am so happy I can be a part of it! I've joined the "blogging" band wagon and so happy I did : )

Menu - Chalkboard
Has anyone had a chalkboard as their menu? We're having a buffet for our weddding, so I thought of having a large chalkboard up for the options. I like the idea because it's different and very "green", using less paper. Any ideas or suggestions???

Wedding Flowers
BM Bouquet/Centerpiece
In working with my florist's, I mentioned that I have 9 BMs and 10 tables, so they suggested that the BM bouquets could also be the centerpieces, which I LOVED!
My BMs are going to carry pink hydrangeas and I will carry a bouquet with pink hydrangeas, roses and sweetheart roses!! After the ceremony, we'll then place the bouquets on each table with a glass vase holder and have shells and glass on the outside, since it's a beachy theme as well! |

"Sweet Dreams" Candy Bar
So, I was wondering if anyone has had the candy bar as their favor for the wedding? I am thinking of setting up the candy bar and making it one of our favors. I haven't decided if I want to provide a box or cello bag for each person. Any ideas? Any pictures? Any on-line vendors?

Wedding Cake
Cupcakes!!
I've decided to be different and do cupcakes for our wedding instead of a cake! Well it's actually not that different, it's actually become more common over the years, but def not traditional, which is SO ME! I LOVE the cupcake idea because it's easy, creative and fun! We're having a casual wedding, so cupcakes go perfect! Here is a pic of an idea I found on-line, but will have to do research on a vendor in the Outer Banks!
