I'm Married!!!
We did it :)
Well I have not posted at all in a while as this site got around to friends and family and I did not want the details to get out. I have however still been checking out all your blogs :)
Anyway on June 20th I had my wedding day, It was honestly the best day of my life :) I will now post my details in a past tense way since it doesn't matter who sees it! Some little tips I learned wedding day: Make sure you sneak in lots of time with you new hubby. People will be pulling you guys in different directions. Make sure you reconnect throughout the night. The one thing that people told me that if I didn't keep it on my mind It would have been very easy to not do it to just take the time to stop and enjoy what is going on. When you are getting married take a moment to look at everyone's faces who came to share the day and see the looks on their faces. the big smiled...the tears...and the full on criers lol. Enjoy every moment because it helps stop time and makes the day last longer. It will be so easy to get lost in everything. Something WILL go wrong on your wedding day. Hopefully it will be fixed before you even know but if not....noone else notices at all. and the people who know are right there to fix it. everyone wants to help :) The thing that went wrong at mine was the venue people were supposed to move the tables for the dance while people went upstairs to the bar for a drink. Well the girl in charge forgot to get me to sign a labor aggreement and was not there and the guys would not move the tables. The grooms men and waiters/caterer stepped in and moved them themselves :) You will not have time to touch up your make-up. If you do you will not know where your make-up is lol. Make sure it is on there good before you start. People told me I would not have time and I was like oh yes I will, I'll make sure...No I did not. Not even lip gloss. If you want lip gloss stick it in your dress somewhere. Do not over estimate the amount of time you have to get ready. You will most likely be late haha. I was by about 15 Min. Hair took way longer than I thought and then my dress took forever to lace up. Don't forget the small, everyday stuff. I did not brush my teeth on my wedding day lol. I forgot. Deodorant is another thing i put on very early but did not reapply before the wedding....reapply lol. At the reception if you NEED to go somewhere else in the room...you need to pick up your dress and run. Otherwise you will be stopped 10 times....or never make it. Something I didn't really realize is You are the star and the reason people are even there so everyone wants to talk to you and take their picture with you. Be prepaired for that. Watch your veil. When people hug you they trap your veil. If your head is up a bit your get stuck like that. Lean in with your head down to create a little slack so your veil doesn't pull your hair lol. Tell your fh to go under your veil for the kiss just to be safe....and it will look cuter :) You will not remember the song you walk down the aisle to. You will not hear any of the words to your first dance song but you will remember your vows perfectly :) The honeymoon stage is not a myth lol. Don and I are even bigger love nerds! It's amazing. You will LOVE being a wife. It is a very sureal feeling. Yay for weddings, Stay tuned for all the details and Pictures :) Plus I have a reception for Calgary to plan! |
