Okay, so first... let me say that I'm really infatuated with this first cake. It's absolutely gorgeous. And another thing I love about it is the "B" cake topper, which is actually my last initial... and will be even when I'm married. It made my day.

But as far as me being able to get this cake, I'm not so sure. I have to take this picture and see if my grandmother will be able to make this for me. If not, I might just end up hiring someone to make it... I'm just trying to make this as cheap as possible, without it being tacky. Hey, I want to have a good honeymoon.

I agree. The first one is gorgeous. It has, height, elegance and class.

Shop around before you make your decision. Just make sure you stay within your budget.

When I get married, I anticipate to have a tall cake, although it won't all be cake. Some people decorate styrofoam with icing. Sometimes it's just the first layer or two which is cake.

I am registered for a cake decorating class. It's 50 bucks. Of course there are different levels of the course. I want to get to level 4.

Have you thought about doing cupcakes? They are becoming popular.  You do have a small cake (or two) on top and the remaining cake is cupcakes.  Your cake(s) can have the same desing of the cake in the picture that you like and colour-at least the top portion that is. Your cup cakes of couse could be pink with a similar design as the cake. You can go as high as you want. Just add lots ofl layers of cupcakes. You could easily do the cupcakes and decorate them yourself, while getting your grandmother to decorate the cake potion.

Thank you so much for the ideas, Beth. I'm actually thinking about doing the cupcake idea, because... I was honestly going to have cupcakes anyway... and this way it will be a lot cheaper on me.
