Fresh Flowers or No Fresh Flowers That Is The ?

I honestly feel flowers for a wedding is a lot of wasted money. Its extremely expensive bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquet, groom and grooms men boutonniere, flower girl petals, parents, ceremony decoration flowers, reception centerpiece arrangements, All that adds up I'm thinking no fresh flowers what do you think?

Fresh flowers is a must for any wedding and it's as important as the wedding cake at a wedding at least in my opinion

At the least, my bouquet will be fresh flowers. I haven't decided if I'm going to not do fresh for the girls. But my bouquet, no question about it. I want to be able to smell the fresh flowers, nothing like it in my opinion.

This has to be a personal choice for you. Flowers are pretty and they look great for a wedding however they are really expensive. My budget is tight and I cannot afford to pay a whole lot of cash for some flowers. I decided to go with silk flowers this way I save a lot more money and I have a keepsake at the end and to me that makes me happy. So do what feels right to you and your pockets.

Shop around to get the flowers within your budget and if all else fails then use silk flowers

Thank you all for your comments. budget is a big factor in decision making. My FH and I have found some wonderful alternatives that we are in love with one being the brooch bouquet. Especially since I am a DIY bride and I have some brooches already And I feel like I'm putting more of me into my wedding and  I will have a keepsake as well. Thank you all again your input helped a lot!

The brooch bouquet is a really unique idea!

Personally, I am having silk flowers at my wedding (and its outside) because it was one of the items I didn't have a preference. To me, silk flowers can be more dynamic and more workable into a color scheme. And if smell is a concern, you can just spritz some perfume to me them smell however you want! Real flowers can be more expensive and more of a hassle in some cases.

Honestly, if real flowers are really important to you, then get real flowers. If you don't, you may feel cheated or have regrets, and no one wants to feel that way on her wedding day!

I got no problem with using real flowers or silk flowers, but I'm just the kind of person who thinks that if I'm not using real flowers, I'm not going to try and fake it and make them look real. Oragami flowers, brooch bouquets, etc. are all awesome choices and I think they make the whole thing cheaper (and more original) than trying to trick the eyes with fake ones. I just know if I use silk flowers in a bouquet, there's going to be some snarky nit-picker who will just have to say something.

Thanks ladies I have seen some real looking silk flowers and some not so appealing ones that look cheap. I guess its all on the look and feel of each wedding. I do have a couple of people I know that will probably have something to say if i were to do silk flowers but then again they are not paying for anything as a matter of fact they should be so honored I even invited them to such a intimate event that I spent thousands on and it is free to them. After doing some research I have seen lots of pictures and if done correctly whether silk real brooch Origami, etc.  I think they are all pretty

That's right girl I've seen those and I think they look good at the end of the day those who love and care about you and the wedding won't get caught up in nit picking at the wedding so just do what you love and what makes you happy :D

Go with what works best for you & your budget.  I am actually doing a combination of both.  My ceremony will be very short, and with it being off the lake its very windy at times so the ceremony decor flowers will be silk, as well as miscellanious tables (candy buffet, card table, welcome table). I will have fresh flowers for the bouquets, centerpieces, etc.
