We Did It!
Married and Relaxing in Paris
Peter and I are married!
Sunday was beautiful, I get teary eyed picturing it as I try to type. The day could not have gone any better waiting for the ceremony to begin was definitely the toughest part for both of us we were texting each other up until about an hour before I walked down the aisle since we hadn't seen each other since the night before the day before. I enjoyed breakfast and the morning with my girls and our moms I had the girls scout out the ceremony and reception rooms to assure every thing was fine but ultimately I wanted the surprise of seeing it all for the first time together and I am so glad I was able to follow through with that. Finally the clock struck and a knock at the suite let us know it was time to go line up outside the doors. My dad managed to make me tear up and we shared a very special moment before a slow version of I want to Hold your Hand could be heard. It's the version from Across the Universe. The girls made their way in and up the aisle and then it was my turn. The timing to the song was perfect I entered just as the music picks up. I couldn't focus on anything but Peter's face at the end of the aisle. I teared up instantly I will never forget his face I think we both started shaking when Dad took my hand and placed it in his. We wrote our own vows and I think we set off pretty much all of our guests and each other but it was very sweet. After the ceremony we took five minutes alone and just stood holding each other before going to meet everyone for photos. We had cocktails served to the guests as they waited for the reception, they moved all the decorations I wanted reused in the reception very quickly and an hour and a half later we finally got to see the ballroom decorated with all our choices. It was gorgeous. I could not have imagined it any prettier things went so well together. We did a recieving line to welcome our guests and everyone found their seats and enjoyed a great meal. I haven't heard a bad thing about the food it was amazing! The cake was so pretty too I hated cutting it up lol. I was very happy every one seemed to have a good time on the dancefloor and off. We also had our tea ceremony during the reception. The one thing that got mixed up from original plans but it worked out even better. We were able to share Peter's heritage with all of our guests it was very sweet. I don't think I left the dancefloor I was having such a good time and it went so fast. We didn't bother with the garter or bouquet toss because everyone was having a good time already. At the end of the night I think we were just amazed that it was official that we were married. We shared a little toast and I tried to get him to tell me where we would be off to the next day but he still didn't budge he wouldn't even let me peek into the suitcase that was in our suite! He did let me know it would be an early morning so we were up bright and early after little sleep when he gave his first hint and told me there would be lots of time to sleep on the plane. Finally when we were at our gate did I realize we were headed for Paris! It is so gorgeous here we plan on spending the week here then heading to Rome for a week afterwards. I can't believe Peter kept it a secret these past few months but it was a wonderful surprise! On that note I shall get back to my husband (love typing that now) and will be posting some pictures and more details when we are home again! |

Wedding Reception
Signature Cocktails are back and other updates
~ I had so much fun at my bachelorette party, my girls did an amazing job! My sister in law to be did all our hair up in curls and we all wore marie antoinette costumes. They turned our living room into what looked like a movie set with fake styrofoam columns borrowed from a high school drama department aparently, rich fabrics draped every where and the sweetest little bon bon displays and pink drinks all around. It was a blast we all had so much fun and I got so much cute lingerie for the honeymoon, hope I can fit it all in (by the way still have no idea where we are going, Peter is so smug I know he's excited.
~ We are hoping with the open bar that our guests will be reasonable, most are staying at the hotel and we have designated certain people to keep an eye out for anyone who may need a cab/drive home, we have also agreed on a signature drink for the evening pink lemonade virigin style or spiked with vodka with edible gold flakes. I came across it on the knot and called our vendor to see if we could do it and the answer was yes! 5 days! |

Other Wedding Things
My garter and bachelorette party plans!
Pic 1) My lovely garter, a gift from my future sister in law, I love it!
Pic 2) Marie Antoinette costume, my girls put off the surprise but decided to let me in on a few things. My bach party will be Friday night and I am expected to wear this which I bought for this past halloween but never had the chance to wear because I was too sick to go out, so we are having a Marie themed Party. I can't wait! |

Two Weeks!
14 days until I'm a Mrs!
2 weeks left, there isn't much for us to do, everything is in the hands our our vendors now!
The girls have their dresses altered and they look amazing, Sophia Tolli makes such gorgeous dresses. My dress is ready to go, when I walk in it the skirt swishes side to side like a bell, I cannot wait to be able to keep it on for the day! Also we have decided to have our tea ceremony the morning of the wedding since most of our guests and ourselves will be staying at the hotel the night before we realized this was our best option and more convienient for everyone I will have my hair and make up done, put on my Asian style dress go to the tea ceremony then head up to the girl's suite to put on my dress and get prepared for the ceremony which we are also having at the hotel since our original venue fell through. I am a little disappointed but the Royal York is beautiful and needs minimal decoration on our part, they have been fabulous to work with and so accomodating, the venue is our wedding gift from both sets of parents :) they are so sweet. Our escort cards came in today we had a friend of Peters who does calligraphy do them on pretty vintage champagne paper and will be putting them on display over a tray of rose petals also found some pretty frames for our table number and for displaying some pictures of us around the room. Favor boxes are finished, going to get the fortune cookies closer to the day I need to think of a cute phrase to put on display on the favor table. We have choosen to use our own fortunes, they really are just clips of love song lyrics and quotes that have meaning to us on one side and a thanks and our names and wedding date on the other, they were also hand done by the calligrapher. For someone who does it as a hobby he should really start his own business! |

Gold details
Photo 1: Our backdrop set up to be used behind head table during the reception,
Photo 2: I ordered two of these topiaries to be placed on columns on either side of the "altar" and we will likely put them on either end of the head table for the reception Photo 3: Our toasting flutes Photo 4: Cake Serving Set |

Favors
We have decided on fortune cookies as favors, orginally I was going to bake and freeze sugar cookies but we decided this would be be just as nice and a little tribute to Peter's Asian roots. Rather than having the favors at each place setting I want a three tier stand that acts as a focal point so the tables don't look too cluttered.
We have also gotten confirmation for our linens, the chair covers are going to be gold and the the table linens a champagne, its going to look so pretty and romantic with all the candle light, only 41 more days, time is sure going fast |

Wedding Reception
Centerpieces
They aren't as dramatic as our original idea but they are a lot more budget friendly and still look great at a fraction of the price, also giving in and going with a florist for the centerpieces though still diy-ing the bouquets!

Wedding Reception
Fairmont Royal York
Drama: Our original venue is being renovated and renovations are taking longer than expected not looking like it will be complete for our wedding day.
Luckily my fierce future mother in law got our deposit back and helped us find a new venue, the Fairmont Royal York. One nice thing about here is our out of town guests will get a discounted rate and it is a great hotel. The ballroom is really pretty. Peter and I had a good heart to heart recently though, we would be just as happy going to city hall to get that piece of paper, not to say I'm not enjoying wedding planning but when all is said and done we really just can't wait to be married and start this new chapter of our relationship. However our parents are being generous in their assistance, doubling our budget and encouraging the memorable event because both of them had smaller ceremonies, (very sweet and they are both really happy lol but I think living their wedding dreams through us). Guest count is currently at 101 still waiting for a few more rsvps but happy with this number, its a little large but we both have large families. We also have our menu: Baby Spinach Leaves with Caramelized Pear, Roasted Walnuts, Stilton Crumbs with Port and Roasted Shallot Vinaigrette to start followed by Trio of Lamb Rack Chop, Alberta Beef Tenderloin Filet Mignon and New Brunswick Lobster Tail Served with Pinot Noir Sauce and Sweet Potato Mash. its amazing. With beverage table service and a four hour host bar, no longer doing the bellini bar, maybe for another occasion. So a few more things off the list! Crisis averted :) |

Bridesmaids
Dresses Finalized! ( Finally :) )
So the girls decided that the dresses just weren't right for our wedding, they weren't formal enough so back to the stores we went! I have to admit I was getting frustrated with time going by so fast I didn't want any more mishaps but we managed to find them all gorgeous dresses, I decided to let them pick their own as long as it was the same color luckily they all liked the same designer so the color is a perfect match. I have to admit it will look a lot better than the cocktail dresses especially given the formal setting of the reception, they wanted the pretty frilly dresses after all. I'm happy with their choices, they are beautiful two of the girls need little alteration but the third needs to be taken in quite a bit luckily we have a trusted seamstress this time around! Fingers crossed that there won't be any more dress drama or mishaps!

Wedding Dress
For Tea Ceremony
Here is my top choice so far, traditionally the color is red but my future mother in law said to pick something that I like and I love this gold design it goes well with our wedding color scheme also. I'm going to see if any of the local shops have anything similar or can make something similar to support local business if posible.
