Here's my little project that I've been working on over the Christmas holiday. Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa... :) :)
When I first joined WBC, I posted a question asking how I can incorporate my nephew and FH's nephew (both age 3) into the wedding. One of the suggestions that caught my attention was the "Here comes the bride" sign. I checked around online and the signs cost about $50...yikes. So, I figured I'd make it myself, but I don't paint really well.
Then I thought I may not be a great painter, but I can embroider pretty well (shhhhh). I bought some ivory satin fabric and embroidery thread and got to work about a week before Christmas. Then I took it to the cleaners and had the stitch the edges for the sticks to fit into. Now it's all done and I'm so proud of it.
Cost breakdown
1/2 yd bridal satin - $3
embroidery thread - $2.50
Finishing touches at the cleaners - $8
Sticks (not pictured) - $6
Feeling I have since finishing another DIY project: Priceless :)
What do you ladies think? Honest opinions please...
I need to get working on mine for my nephew!!
