Where do I start?! ...
So in March of this year I had hit a wall. I was tired all the time. I was at the beginning stages where my clothes weren't fitting well (this is after I had already bought a size 16!) and I was incredibly miserable and tired. I mean tired all the time! I had a good night's sleep and I STILL woke up exhausted. I wasn't happy even though I was semi-newly engaged to my amazing fiancé and so excited about getting married. I'm thinking...what the heck is wrong with me?!
I knew things had to change and I knew it had to change NOW! I looked on other bridal fitness forums and communities to try and get some inspiration, but nothing, nada, zip!
I started taking baby steps. I started by first cutting out 50% of the bad, sugary, starchy things I KNEW I shouldn't be eating. "Joy, would you like a chocolate covered cinnamon bun or a boston cream donut?" My mind was in battle mode -- Um, heck yes! But I didn't eat it. Small victory! That battle was won...but it'll happen again and again.
By the time May rolled around I was still on bridal forums/communities checking out fitness and exercise headings. Then BAM! I see this section: Learn to Run! I take a quick look and it's a more than qualified fitness trainer looking to get a group of brides together to learn to run (or just run if you know how) for 8 weeks for $50. WHAT?! Shut the front door! 8 weeks, $50 for basically a personal trainer?! Sweet. I got so excited and knew this was it. I was going to start a lifestyle change my body had been begging me to do since I started packing on the pounds.
So what did I do? I emailed the instructor -- sweetest lady in the world! -- and we began on the starting date. What I found out was that I was the only one who had responded! I basically got a free personal trainer, nutritionist, and most importantly a friend who was the best support.
After those 8 weeks I had lost almost 10lbs and tons of inches. I was excited, energized, and ready to go! She also used this product called Isagenix and I was intrigued. Immensely intrigued. I was thinking -- alright, what do I have to lose?! Weight? Awesome!
So I tried the 30 day cleanse -- let me tell you, people were scaring me by saying, "oh, gosh it's so hard" I was like, alright, it might be difficult, but I'm worth it and I'm worth giving this thing a try.
Yesterday I just finished the cleanse. And let me tell you it was EASY! Not having to think about what meals to prepare for myself every day and just concentrating on my daughter was a Godsend! It was so great! Now on those specified "cleanse days" the only thing that was hard was seeing people eat that grilled chicken I KNOW tasted amazing. I WASN'T hungry, I just knew that tasted amazing. That was the slightly tough part. But you know what the AMAZING part was?!
...
I lost 35lbs and almost 70 inches! I can fit into clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for 4 years! FOUR YEARS! I practically have a whole new wardrobe! (Of course I kept all my clothes in hopes that I'd fit in them again one day).
I still have another 40-45lbs to lose -- I'm going to reach my goal weight for my wedding by next October. I just have to! I'm not going to just sit back and do nothing and regret the way I looked in those photos. I can't do that. And more importantly I NEED to be healthy. My body is thanking me for doing what I have done thus far, I can only imagine how fabulous I'll feel when I lose the other 40!
So all I have to say is LADIES! YOU can do it! Will it be difficult? Yes, but it's sooooo worth it! And YOU are worth it!
Cheers & Love!
@mjordan -- I'm so glad that I could be of any help. I lost weight by running, but for me it wasn't falling off fast enough (a self confessed impatient person, lol) So I tried the Isagenix to kick start the weight loss -- I'll be doing another cleanse in January to kick off any holiday weight and to further the weight loss and keep me motivated. But really with Isagenix you don't get weight rebound! it's amazing! And in addition to the Isagenix I gave myself the nutritional knowledge on how eating whole foods (no, not the grocery store. ;) ) is sooooooo healthy for you, so much better! and that helps as well -- I think the paleo eating way is really good -- and it's a diet, I think -- one that tashasita and nidhal have done and successfully.
key points -- exercise, do something -- even 30 minutes of walking -- get up and moving -- starting something is key. and clean up your eating. with that anything is possible!
Cheers!
Great progress and motivation!
Or does a particular store carry them??
cheers!
I have been having the worst time ever trying to lose these last 10 lbs.......I just can't say no to the "good stuff"...which we all know is really the bad stuff lol I've been maintaining my current weight now for a few months.....I run, I watch what I eat, but I just haven't been dedicated to sticking to "the plan".
Good on you for sticking to your guns!!
Sandie -- if you keep on the course you've started you'll more than meet your expectations. Same as Crystal -- if you need any help just message me.
Cheers, Ladies! And Thanks for all your support. :)
