And the Planning Continues
Check List & Cake

Wow...yet again so much time has gone by. We've finally found a few last vendors and signed the contracts.

Only two more big things left.
1. Who the heck is going to marry us?

&

2. Who is going to bake our cake?

Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Apparently, it's one huge task. :)

Dan insists on having someone who KNOWS us to marry us. No problem! But I wish he had someone in mind...and when he finally did have someone in mine we have to wait. So we're still waiting on confirmation of that.

And the big one....the FUN one! cake! We have a good idea of what we like, but oh, goodness! Cake is so stinkin' expensive! Who knew?! We don't want anything elaborate or fondant, and somehow it seems to be a lot!

Here's a few examples of what we're looking for:

4-tier wedding cake

and this one

Photobucket

If it was a 3-tier take the middle one would be fake -- we're not serving it as dessert and if it was a 4-tier cake we're have the middle 2 layers fake.

On top of the cake I need to.... and now here's the list of immediate stuff...

- Design invitation
- Price out paper for making them
- Make appointment with the two bakers to choose from
- Find shoes
- Buy my veil
- Get the confirmation on the officiant
- If the current guy can't marry us, find a new one.
- Make appointment with florist to choose flowers
- Work my butt off (literally!)

In the meantime how are you ladies doing?! I only have 6 months left until I get married! Eeeeek! So excited and stressed. :)

Do you have any must-do's that are wracking your brain? Is the Mister being a pain in the butt?

Hope all of your planning is going wonderfully!

Until next time!

Cheers & Love

Sounds like you're getting the big things done which is important. Those cakes are really pretty! And hopefully the person he had in mind works out for your officiant. Sounds like you're pretty on top of what needs to get done. And with 6 months, I'm sure you have plenty of time.

Haha... excited & stressed :) It's an adrenaline blur isn't it sometimes?

I really wanted someone I knew to marry us too, so what we ended up doing was getting a very special older man that saw me grow up conduct the ceremony (his first time of course!) and the pastor of the church signed us off at the end! It worked PERFECTLY, he was so honored... and we made it easy for him and wrote the whole ceremony out ourselves.

Cake picking is too much fun!! I saw go for a 3 tier... so timeless.

6 months is heaps of time.. just keep that butt moving. ;)

Hi Joy!!! I know that cake can be a tough decision to make-especially if you don't plan on serving the entire thing for dessert! Check out kijiji for some local bakers who may not charge as much.....and if you go with a fake middle tier, it should cut some costs :) Hope you are doing well!!!
