Ask a Question
Alternatives to rice/bubbles/birdseed...

What are your guests using when you leave your ceremony?

My sister got married in August and she used the little bubble containers. The bubbles were adorable, but FH wants something different since bubbles have already been done by someone in my family.
Does anyone have any other cool ideas?

We've looked at the ribbon stick idea, which is cute but in my opinion could be a bit wasteful (what will we do with them after?)
I don't think our church allows rice or bird seed...
We were considering petals, but again, the church may not allow...

Does anyone have any unique ideas? Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

How about biodegradable confetti. Here is the link: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/ecofett.html  Hope that helps!

how about noisemakers,  bells, or streamers.

Found this online

Bells

“Every time you hear a bell ring think of when Mr. & Mrs.________ got their wedding rings.”

“Hark! The merry chimes are pealing, Soft and glad the music swells, Gaily in the night wind stealing, Sweetly sound the wedding bells.” ~ Eliza Cook

As long as it's outside a church will usually allow anythign that is biodegradable. Except rice because of the urban myth that it will make birds explode, lol.

Sparklers are cute if it's getting dark out, I went to a wedding where we all let white balloons go. (supposedly they were eco-friendly ones) :)

I would love to do sparklers, but it looks like we will be having a noon wedding...at the latest, 2pm.  I also like the idea of confetti or flower petals.  My main thing is that I don't want to end up with a bunch of random, useless wedding stuff sitting at my house when it's all said and done and I absolutely don't want people to just throw things from the wedding away, creating more waste.  What do you guys think about the wedding wands in the pic?  Imagine them with blue/green ribbon?  I also like the idea of hot gluing a little bell on the end of each wand so they ring as well - thanks tiggre99!

you could double up the use of the little wands and put everyone's table number and stuff on them, the only thing about that is then you'd need to make sure everyone got the right wand.
