Bridal Showers!!
My sisters threw me a bridal shower!! I was soooo surprised! I guess I knew I'd be having a shower at some point, I just had been to busy/stressed to even think about it. My girlfriend hosted it in her gorgeous home.
My best friends drove down from NJ. My girl even brought my goddaughter who I hadn't seen in over a year! They used my wedding theme "Love: How sweet it is" as the theme for the shower. We had a candy buffet and the best cotton candy cosmo martinis EVER!!! The food was amazing and dessert (cupcakes) was delish! I got soooo many gifts off my registry! I also got plenty of gift cards. My fave gift: the punch bowl, which I will be using to make a huge batch of those cotton candy cosmos.... :) Then last Tuesday, my girl threw me a second shower, for my coworkers. This is the same gf who hosted my 1st shower 2 days earlier and again it was at her house. The good thing was that we used the same decorations/theme so we had more candy and cosmos. Yummm :) My coworkers gave me pretty awesome gifts. Again, plenty of gift cards. My fave gift: KitchenAid professional stand mixer! So stoked because that was the one gift I was really looking forward to but not really expecting to get. |

Wedding Dress
LOVE
My initial wedding dress was a nice formal halter-style that I didn't really care for. It was a dress that looked nice on me and fit the wedding. I wasnt WOWED though.
So, once the wedding plans changed I had to find a new dress. I eliminated my bridal party (which only consisted of my sisters and niece anyway) I was beginning to freak because I was having no luck in the dress department. My twin and I decided to go to Alfred Angelo so I could try on the dress I had originally picked for her to wear. Once at AA store I tried on the same dress in a long style....and fell in LOVE! Now I just need to find some amazing fuschia shoes to wear... |

about 5 weeks til I DO!
So much has happened since I last posted! I have changed my plans considerably. Due to some family drama, my wedding ceremony will be private. Only about 20 close family and friends. It will be held at a lovely gazebo/outdoor venue followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant. I also changed my wedding date, it was originally July 3 and now its the 2nd. On July 3rd we will be having a barbecue reception. This will be very laidback and we have invited about 60 people.
I am so happy about the changes! Our initial plan was to go to Vegas but my mom talked us out of it saying that we would regret it later. Soon our wedding had morphed into some kinda craziness that our friends and family wanted and was no longer about US. Now we are having the intimate wedding we wanted. I am sooo happy and uber excited to marry the man I never could have dreamed of. :) |

Ask a Question
Where did the time go?! 87 DAYS!
Ok, so I haven' t been on here in months! I also haven't been doing much wedding planning. :(
The time crept up on me and slapped me in the face. So I am on Spring Break from work this week and am taking the time to do some crash-planning. My sisters and girlfriends are convinced I'll be able to pull it all off but I am not so sure we wont be eating pb&j sandwiches at the reception. On my to-do list for the week: finally decide on a caterer go to 2 cake tastings ummm.... get my dress put the finishing touches on the invitation design start working on my favors Am I the only one in this predicament?? |

Bridal Show
What am I getting myself into??!?
So, I'm headed to a Bridal Expo today. Kinda unsure about what to expect. Will it be hundreds of screaming brides full of excitement? Will there be way-too-pushy vendors? IDK...I just really don't know what to expect. I don't want to be overwhelmed and somehow I think thats whats gonna happen...
Wish me luck. |

The Ladies...
My Bridal Party
I have two Honor attendants and one bridesmaid. My sisters and I are very close, so it was really easy to decide who would stand up there at the altar with me on our wedding day.
Lai: my twin sister and one of my very best friends. She will be my Matron of Honor. Kaye: my younger sister will be my Bridesmaid of Honor. We have always been close and have become great friends over the past few years. She has also supported my relationship since day 1. Kaila: my fabulous niece will be my bridesmaid. I couldn't imagine my wedding day without these three DIVAS! |

The Proposal
We had been seriously talking about getting married for about 2 months when he proposed in front of my closest friends and family. My sisters and I decided to have a Halloween party. So about halfway thru the night, we were thanking everyone for coming and telling them that we'd be doing this every year blah, blah, blah. He then steps into the middle of the floor and started talking. I was like "What is he doing?" Thats when I realized everybody was looking at me. I started to pay attention to what he was saying. What?! Is this man proposing to me?!? He then dropped down to one knee and pulled out THE RING!! Woohoo!

How we met...
What the heck is a Cabaret?!?
April 20, 2007
So I was fairly new to the DC area. I was invited to a Cabaret (what some parties are called in the DC/MD/VA area) by a co-worker/friend. LOL because I thought it was some kind of burlesque show... While there, I was introduced my sweetie. :) We went outside and talked for a while. Hmmm...this dude is cool as hell. We exchanged numbers and he called me the next day. After talking for a while, we decided to meet at the movies. We have been together (with a lil hiatus) ever since! |
