Wedding Favors
Again...
Sooooo, I took my CD/Rock candy idea to FH, who decided he's not crazy about it. Ugh. I thought I found the perfect thing. So... instead of working against the coffee/italian dessert table, I've decided I'll work with it! Chocolate covered coffee spoons and decorated sugar cubes. Woo-hoo! I figure I'll be able to make the spoons no problem, the sugar cubes might be a little harder. If anyone has any tips or a "how-to" they'd like to share for either of these, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!

Wedding Favors
CD's and rock candy?
I have been agonizing over what to do for favors. Don't want anything overdone or cheesy or tacky. We're already getting cake and an Italian dessert buffet included with our reception package, so anything edible just seems like overkill. Then I came across the idea of doing a CD favor, since we're both really into music and it's one of the loves we share. I thought, wow! this is awesome! I'll do CD's with some of his music, some of my music, and some of the music we both love, and tie some pink rock candy to the top of it, it'll be so cute! However, I understand there's a big legal/ethical dilemma doing this, since technically you're distributing music you do not own the rights to. Ugh. I'm really torn. Do I do it, or not?

Wedding Reception
We booked it!
We finally booked our wedding! FH is taking the deposit to the place today! It's all going to be at the same place, in the same room actually. They're going to divide the room in half and we're going to have our ceremony, then we'll have our receiving line in the hallway and they'll set up the other side for the reception. The cake, flower centerpieces for the head table and guest tables, and 4 hour open bar are all INCLUDED! For what we're getting, this was really the best deal around. YAYY!

Update & Dilemma
Wowwww, it's been a long time since I've been on here. We've been so busy doing things to the house, and honestly I forgot I had this blog! Now that things are settled down with the house, we are going to book the wedding this week (YAYYYY!) so I've been looking at getting/making some cards to ask my bridesmaids. My sister is going to be my MOH, and I have another friend that I definitely know is going to be a BM. In the past year, I've really reconnected with two of my friends from High School. Most of the time when we hang out, there is another girl that we hang out with (she used to work with one of them). I plan on asking my two friends, but I am contemplating asking this other girl. I love her to death and love hanging out with her, but I don't know if we're close enough for me to ask her to be in my wedding yet, but I also don't want her to feel left out if I ask the other two. ugh. Any advice?

NWR.. Well sort of!
We bought a house!
We went to the open house on Sunday, ended up putting an offer in that night, heard back yesterday, then counter-offered and it was accepted! Settlement is Oct. 15, and I am so excited. The reason it's sort of wedding-related is that we were counting on the $8,000 tax credit to help pay for the wedding since we're paying for it ourselves. Now we can finally book and we can have a firm date for the wedding!
It doesn't look like much, but it's all ours. We definitely plan on doing a lot of work to it, since it was an older lady that lived there since the '60s and pretty much nothing has been updated since then except a few of the appliances. My FMIL is drawing up plans already, haha. Anyone else just buy a house? How exciting!! |

Yay for Craigslist!
I just picked up some stuff I bought off a girl from Craigslist and I'm so excited! I got the card box, 23 pink bubbles, 32 clear bubbles, the ring bearer pillow, and the smaller of the three photo frames. All for $60 bucks. I was going to make my own card box, or buy one, but this saves me a lot of time and money, it's already my colors!

Decided on dresses!
I designed everything on davids bridal's website but when I try and put the pic on here, the color gets all whacked out. It'll be like this dress, with a pink sash. The guys will probably be in black shirts and pants with a pink tie. Pretty sure at this point we'll be doing just shirts, no jacket or tux or anything. It just seems so formal and stuffy, not us at all.
