DIY Wedding
Seating Cards

I'm a big believer in having assigned seating at a wedding. I know it's time consuming and you always have issues seating "Uncle George" next to crazy cousin "Marty" and so on. But I also think it shows your guest that you care about them. That's not what I wanted to talk about though. geez I lost my train of thought!! Ohhh wait... I found it! Regardless how you feel about seating cards I found some that are super cute and go with my garden theme. Pinwheels! They are super easy to make and that way you can customize them to your colors! I believe I found this picture on theknot.com.

I have actually tried making one and it was simple. This is what I used to make mine....

paper- any size as long as it's cut into a square
pencil- I used one with an eraser on top
scissors
clear push pin

Once you have your paper in a square, cut starting at the corner towards the center about 3/4 of the way there. Do this on each corner making sure that you don't cut all the way and that each side is the same length. Then insert the pushpin into the tip of one of the corners,
fold every other corner into the middle using the pushpin to gather them all. Stick the pushpin threw the back of the pinwheel and into the eraser of the pencil. Careful not to stick it all the way threw the eraser though.
(If for any reason don't understand my instructions or are more of a visual person check out this site and it gives set up set instructions with pictures. http://www.howtodothings.com/hobbies/how-to-make-a-pencil-pinwheel )

Then to make them into seating cards on one side write the guests names then on the opposite side write the table number. Another idea I'm thinking of is make green petals and wrapping them on the pencil to make them look more like flowers. I'm displaying them just like the picture in grass with a decorative little fence surrounding it.

I think it's different and very springy! What do you think?
