Groomsmen attire :Help needed!

My ideas for Groomsmen and FH..

I hate the look of black tuxes, way to formal and depressing for me. To Match our wedding location, I decided to go with tan suits or maybe just tan slacks and a nice white shirt with the FH with a matching jacket.

Im debating about ties? I think you could really make it fun with the right tie! but at the same time I dont think it works for the 'casual' theme Im going for. In the picture the groom is the only one wearing a tie which is cool.

Boutineres.. is it okay to still where one if you arent wearing a jacket? I think it would bring some color to the plainness of the tan & white.

Another question about shoes, I love flip-flops but my FH and his friends are totally against them. I dont want black shoes!

Our son/Ringbearer will be in a tan suit as well.. anybody know where I can find a tan one in a boys size 7 or 8?

Thanks for the help girls,as always! xoxo

You shouldn't wear boutineres without a jacket,to me that would look tacky. and the guys can find a nice pair of loafers(shoes) to wear with their outfits, I'm with the guys I don't think they should wear flip-flops and It's a different look to only have the groom wear a tie, or everyone can wear a tie with no jacket. If you have them wear a tie, you can bring color in that way.

Good question! Most of my boys will not be wearing jackets, and I never even considered if it would look akward for them to wear a bout. I found this pic online, and think it answers my question. I don't mind at all! Hope this helps :)

I had some of the same questions as I'm gonna be a beach bride as well! :) I think you can have soooooooo much fun with ties- and love the idea of only groom wearing one. This was originally the look we were going for but then I got him to try on his pink and blue and it was alll over!! ..lol

I dont mind the way the boutineres look without the jacket honestly, but I love the idea of ties and I think I might be looking for some orange ones!

i'm currently having the same issue about what my FH should wear. We are getting married on the beach and I don't want he to be HOT so we have discussed just slacks and a nice shirt but he keeps going back to the suit and tie.

I think you should do whatevers gonna make your FH happiest. I think sandles are a good idea and no jacket would be fine as well. i also agree w/ not wearing a boutinere w/o a jacket. just do a tie if no jacket and maybe everyon could wear a cool looking tie instead of a solid color something w/ a pattern.

thats just my thought...i'm sure you FH and the groomsmen will look amazing any way it goes!!

You can wear boutonniers without a jacket, look at aimee114's recent pics of her anniversary shoot. Her husband has an awesome look going and a bout without a lapel per se. He looks great. :)

We're getting married on the beach and the guys are wearing a vest instead of a jacket. And a tie because I want the ties to be colorful. :) And I think you can definitely wear a bout without a jacket.

Sounds like our groomsmen attire is very similar.. we're doing khaki linen suits, white undershirts, and boat shoes.  I don't think we're doing bout.'s if we do the groom will probably be the only one wearing one so he can stand out.
