With all the negative things going on around me right now I want to think of something positive!
What song are you walking down the aisle too? I'm undecided on this, I know my FH would want something traditional.. but I'm not so sure. Nothing really about our wedding is traditional.
SO my question for you girls is.. What songs are you considering walking down the aisle too?
Our best man's mom and brother always play the trumpet and piano, so they played Canon n D for me. I thought it was very pretty and loved it. I love the song "When I Say I Do' by Mathew West
I'm in the process of deciding between going traditional and having Mendelssohn's Wedding March by a cello quartet or a more modern approach of Train's Marry Me.
I've been thinking about music also. We haven't decided on any songs. It is so tough because there are so many great songs out there. I know it definitely won't be traditional. My brother plays the guitar so I was thinking about having him play some acoustic stuff maybe? I don't know. I know I am no help.
@loveatthebeach I think having your brother play something would be so special!-I just know we want lots of Jason Mraz and Bob Marly type stuff to go along with the beach theme.
I love that song by Train (marry me), I'll probably use that. However, my sister in law to be walked down the aisle to Norah Jones "Come Away With Me" and it was beautiful....I guess I can't use that song too, bummer!
I've been flip-flopping between Giving Myself by Jennifer Hudson and All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera. Jennifer speaks for me but the song from Phantom is powerful and speaks of our journey. I love both. I feel both. Very hard decision.
so glad you posted this Laurie! I'm trying to figure out the same thing right now! love all the ideas girls! i haven't really decided if i'm going to do the traditional instrumental music, or a contemporary song.. i really like Train's Marry Me as well..and a few country ones that the FH prob wouldn't like, hah
I'm walking down the aisle to "Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks. I knew I would walk down the aisle to is since the first time I heard it. Gives me goosebumps.
I've chosen 'Now I love someone' by Holly Throsby (an australian artist) for my bridal party to enter to because the words sum up the process of love and deciding to get married. ["Our love is a song That we sing, that's been sung By our parents and their parents They swear it and we swear it now Now we love someone
We both bellow "Hello!" We both bellow "Hello" ]
And I'm walking in to 'When I see you smile' by Bic Runga (an amazing New Zealand singer) - my FH will know nothing about this until i begin to walk in. Again, chosen for the words and because I LOVE Bic Runga.
["When I see you smile It feels like I'm falling It's not for anybody else to know The way your face could light the bitter dark of every street In every town I'll ever go It's not for anybody else to know For anybody else to know
When I see you smile First thing in the morning It raises curtains on your lazy eyes Could it be that you and I have the greatest love to ever be How could this have ever been before? It's not for anybody else to know For anybody else to know
When Friday night arrives We'll let it pass outside the door This is not for anybody else Anybody else to know" ]
I'm having a modern wedding but I'm walking down to the traditional bridal march probably. The moment is so meaningful I'm afraid of picking a "trendy" song that I may regret later. I love Train's Marry Me though so I think we will do that during the unity candle lighting and I want Colbie Caillat's (sp?) "I Do" for our recessional, it's so upbeat and fun, perfect after the "I Do's!"
I know I'm late but I just had to put my 2 cents in... I'm walking down the aisle to "When I found love(Cindy' Song)" by Bebe Winans and I'm having a female singer to sing it. It is a beautiful song and it expresses exactly what I feel about my hubby to be. Caio!
I've always loved Bryan Adams' "I'm ready" the unplugged version. You can find it on youtube. My friend walked down the aisle to it and it was so beautiful! I've also loved Katie Melua's instrumental version of "Just like heaven", the intro is just amazing.
My fiance is learning Canon in D on his acoustic guitar. He's going to record it on a cd and i'll walk down the aisle to it :)
