Steel drum band-Should I or shouldn't I?




So this is just one more thing that I've been debating. I really think a Steel Drum band would add to my 'tropical' theme, our venue feels like an island and I thought this would be a great way for guests to really feel like they were somewhere tropical.

The band we were looking into has a great price and is only $200 more then what we would be paying the DJ to do the event, and the Steel Drum band I think would be more unique and special.

The band itself has an extensive song list and will even learn any song you choose!

Should I or Shouldn't I?

Should.  I love a steel drum band!!  If you're having a tropical theme, I don't see why not!!  You know you and I have spoken about budget, and $200 doesn't seem like alot but we know how small numbers turn into big numbers.  But it seems like you are in a good place with budget and if the venue, feel, and budget of the wedding JIVE with a steel pan band, why not?!!!

I totally think you should. I think it would stand out more than a DJ and make your wedding more memorable. A great band makes a HUGE difference in a wedding.

Well the band would only be for the ceremony, but the DJ would cover cocktail hour and the Reception =)

I definitely think you should splurge on the steel drum band. How long do you have them for?

Only for an hour in a half. I figure the guests will start arriving around 5:30pm and the ceremony will last 20 min. but I'm figuring in an extra 10 minutes just in case it runs a little longer then expected.

I'd say go for it!  I think it would be a neat extra to add to your wedding.  I'm sure you and your guests will love it!
