laurie88 has a question! Luau Rehearsal Dinner Centerpiece.. What do you think of this?


Hey girls!
I've been trying to finalize plans for our rehearsal dinner and asked my florist to quote me on some orchid stems and loose orchids to do these centerpieces.. I can do 4 Pineapples and it's going to cost about $80 for the Stems. I guess $20 per centerpiece isn't horrible though.

Do you think these fit the 'luau' theme? We are having plain white linens(they were free with the tent rental) and I may pay extra to have lime green and hot pink napkins.

We will have tiki torches burning along the path to the tent and also all around the tent.

Also hanging a fresh orchid lei on the back of each chair. Do you think that will look too plain?we will also have some luau decor and also a table top tiki bar where we will serve Blue Hawaiians and Pina Coldas in Coconut cups.

would it be cheaper to do a centerpiece with sand and the orchid in a vase, or pineapple rings, not the chucks in a tall glass vase and a tropical flower glued to the front of the vase.

@ginosgirl-those are some great ideas! I really like the idea of the single orchid bloom in a vase- I would only have to purchase one orchid stem that way! or just a bunch of loose orchids which would cost about $18. Thanks for the advice!! =)

and since I would be reusing the sand and vases that I already bought to display the sparklers in at the wedding I would be saving money and putting products to good use!

and I think as brides we put sooo much effort in to the thingd that we shouldnt. I think you shouldnt spend that much money, if none at all on the rehearsal dinner and hit it hard at the reception.

I think this looks great! All of the ideas sounds great and perfect for your luau. For the rehearsal, it definitely doesn't have to be too crazy.

I don't think that is too plain at all. Either centerpiece would work great - the pineapple or the sand in vases.

That sounds perfect to me!  The pineapple centerpieces are adorable and the fresh leis are going to be wonderful.  Sounds like a great rehearsal to me.
