Passports-We got them!!



So FH and I went and got our passports today, yet another wedding expense I didn't budget for. The passports were almost $300 with processing fees. CRAZY, right? But we needed them so I guess there is no point in complaining. The guy said it takes 4-6 weeks to get them but that people are typically getting them back within 3 weeks. We should be fine because our honeymoon isn't for 9 weeks.(whoa, doesn't seem like much time at all!)

I'm getting more and more excited by the day, There are just things that hit you and your like.. OMG, I'm actually getting MARRIED!

I got 4 more RSVPS today but I also have a few people who didn't get invitations.. so annoying since I paid $1.70 each to mail them. I don't have any extras either but I'm talking to the girl that did my invitations to see if she could make me some extras.

Anyway, still SO much to do to help my mom prepare for the bridal shower, still have to buy suits and shoes for the guys too. I don't see having any free time in the near future. Between wedding planning and my son, I had to take a break from Spring and Summer classes until the wedding is over. The NFL is currently in a lock out so we don't have much news which means less for me to write about. Normally I'd be complaining about this but at the moment I'm kinda grateful!

Yeah, the price of the passports surprised me too! but, it will make life easier to have them! My RSVP cut off date was yesterday, and I still have somewhere in the neightborhood of 25 missing. Time to chase these people down! Lol!

Wow!  I didn't realize that passports are that much...gezzz!  I guess you kind of need them though:-/  I know how you feel bout people not getting their invites!  I had a couple people that didn't get theirs.  So, I had to send out another to them!  Good thing I had quite a few extra!

@Savagehart- I'm waiting until about 2 week before my venue needs my final head count, July 8th, to call people and follow up on RSVPS. Hopefully I don't have to hunt down a whole lot of them. Good luck!

@Sugarr2518- Between the price of passports and plane tickets we could totally do an upgrade on the room for the honeymoon =/ I really hope the invites turn up. I just sent them out Friday so we'll see!

yaaay how exciting...im getting ready to get our passports as well, i know they were that pricey so im a littl prepared to pay lol....wow girl your wedding is just around the corner, goodluck..IM starting to feel the crack down pressure as well and my days off are spent getting wedding things finished....i wish you the best girl =) hopefully i dont have that problem with the invites, im nervous it will happen to me....one of my guest got their save the date 3 months after I sent it!!!! and they only live in the next county to me about 45 minutes away, eeeekkk pray for the best girl

Ugh you just reminded me about mine. FH has to apply for his but I am going to wait to to change mine until all the paper work is in with my new legal name (because you have to do that).
That's crazy expensive for a passport!!! In Canada I only paid $75 for mine!

Holy moly, that is soooooooooo exciting!! Yippee. So excited for you!

And as far as the invitations go, that just plain stinks! I just don't understand the post office....it seems like almost everybody has had some sort of invitation drama....who would have known?!!!
