I figured I would share the letter I wrote to my mom with you girls. My Mom is my best friend and I got super emotional just writing this. I wanted to pay a special tribute to her because she has done soo much for My son, Nick & I. So the DJ will be reading this after the first dance and before dinner at the wedding reception.
Mom,
Where do I begin to share a lifetime of gratitude? Today is my wedding day! A day I have waited for all of my life. A day that you have prepared me for since the beginning.
You have taught me so much,to be strong and independent. To life live to the fullest and to love with my whole heart, you taught me to put others first and that family is the most important thing in the world. But most of all, you taught me how to be a great mother myself. It was never hard for me, I saw everyday first hand from the most amazing Mom in the world.
From the beginning, I could always count on you to be there, I always knew you would be sitting in the crowd at every cheer practice and school play. I always appreciated the little notes you used to put in my lunch box, you know, just the little ones that said 'Have a good day, love Mom!' There are so many things I want to thank you for, here are just a few. Thank you for taking care of me when I was sick and in bed. Thank you for the ginger ale and chicken noodle soup. Thank you for throwing me birthday partys every year. I remember all of them. Thank you for letting me cry and holding me until I was finished, Thank you for putting up with me through my crazy teenage years, Thank you for picking me up from the skating rink every Friday night, Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of character, but most of all Thank you for being my Mom.
To express in words everything that you are to me would be like trying to fill the grand canyon one grain of sand at a time. I would not be who I am today without your unconditional love and support.You have taught me to do the right things even if there is nothing to gain.You are the one who taught me independence, I’m happy being myself, you trust my opinion and always keep an open mind to what I have to say, You always listen to me and allow me to make my own mistakes. I’m sure you’ve watched me walk into situations that you knew were going to hurt, but the thing that lets me know how much you care is that you let me go into them. Had I been totally sheltered from life I’d never learn, and when life pushed me around you always gave me your shoulder and ear, and the strength to push back. I’ve always pulled through.
and through the wedding process, I can't thank you enough for being there for every dress fitting, cake testing, hair trial and planning meeting.Thank you for listening to me vent and giving your opinion. This wedding would not be possible without you.
Nick and I would not be where we are today had you not been in our lives. I want to thank you, for everything. I hope you know you have nothing to worry about. Nick is a great man, a great father and will make a wonderful husband.
And Even though, today, I become a married women, I hope you know I will always be your little girl in a polka dot dress with pigtails, I hope we are never too old to watch the little mermaid together. You are not only my mom, but my best friend and I love you.

It's a little long but I'm not doing any speeches at the wedding reception so hopefully that makes up for it.. I don't want to bore everyone to death but it was really important to me to do this for my mom. <3
