Will you be having a 'sex break?'



WARNING: THE 'S' WORD IS THROWN AROUND A LOT IN THIS POST. :-P

So I heard about this for the first time on this site. About having a NO SEX rule a few weeks out from the wedding. I think it's a really good idea.. to make you feel a little like you are (maybe kinda sorta) having sex for the first time on your wedding night.

I've heard of a bunch of different girls doing different time frames, some 2 weeks some up to a month or even 2!!

My question is, will you be doing it? If so how long are 'holding out' for before the wedding? I was thinking anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. Our joint Bachelor and Bachelorette parties are July 9th at the beach so I think that will be the last time before our wedding night.

Hope nobody gets offended by this post. We are all adults! lol..

We will not be abstaining--in fact, we plan on TTC shortly before the wedding (and/or after, depending on how quickly things happen). Unfortunately, however, we're having a 'break', right now, as FI is away for work for the summer.. booooo.

totally doing this lol!  but  prolly 2 weeks i don think i could  go longer than that lol! I think its a great idea sex is always more amazing when you havent been around eachother for a bit, u kinda make up for loss time lol!

Well my fiancee and I agreed to not have sex for 16 month's  that's until our wedding! (but today we cheated!) lol. but yes 16 month's it. i'm kinda happy about it because when we actually have "S" it will seem like the "first" time again!

Um haven't really thought about it but did wonder how Many people actually have sex on there wedding night. This is totally un romantic but from what I have heard you are really tied And more often than not you don't.

Will have to think about the answer to your question

I don't know if our willpower is strong enough haha maybe during the week leading up to, but then it is such a good stress reliever so who knows ;)

I've heard that too about being tired but no matter how tired I am I'm not starting off by not having sex on my first night as a married women. I can just see that being held over my head for the rest of my life.

I have though that you are so tied on your wedding night that most couples don't have sex. Un romantic as that is anyone else heard that?

Yeah I agree I think there is something special about doing it on our wedding night. In all the old English books your no really married till you have consumated the marriage. Will have to discuss with Fh to see what he thinks

we will be taking a "sex break" for the whole week of the wedding. normally that would be impossible, but i'm sure i'll be distracted with last minute things to do :p

I joke around about this with FH and he says it's not happening. lol.
Like hismrsb - we will probably not do anything the week of the wedding because of all the running around.

I think we'll also take a break. Probably 2 weeks. Don't think longer than that but then again we will have people staying with us from almost 4 weeks before the wedding.

I get the idea were going to running around so much we might not even have time or strength anyway. :-)

I love the idea of having it special on the night, I don't think we'll make love on our wedding night. I think we'll be too tired & we will be drinking champaigne all night. ;-)  

We'll definitely make up for it on the honeymoon.

@enchantedbride- You are right about all the stresses leading up to! I'm kinda like that now lol but I 100% want to do it on my wedding night, regardless of how tired I am.

I think we are going to do this too, not sure how long but long enough to even do it even if we can't keep our eyes open from being super tired.  You can't start the marriage off that way like you said laurie88, no bueno! lol!

BIG ONE....I know, FH and I attend counselling sessions with Father and ever since we started classes we have not done it,  been 5 months now we are holding out for the big day...

It is not as easy, for us Father really has helped us, especially FH more than me hahahah!

We are waiting 4 months!  Seems like an eternity!

We will definitely be anxious to leave the reception & start our wedding night, no matter how tired we are.
